Can I throw my dog poo in your trash?

Anonymous
No. We have dogs and I would never do that. It is rude.

Throwing feces in someone else's trash can is never ok.

If you don't want to carry around your dog's feces, why would you expect other people are ok with it in their trash can? Your dog, your responsibility.

They get stuck at the bottom of the trash can (most times) even after trash pickup day. This is not a nice neighborly thing to do. Carry it home to your own can. -Former dog owner in NW DC nhood

Absolutely no!! It gets stuck in the bottom and stinks. Take it home and deal with it there.

If it is in a baggie, then absolutely! I would rather you throw it in my trash can than leave it on the ground somewhere.

However, beware...there are weird people out there who think their trashes is cleaner than yours and will bug out.

What's your address so we can send people to your house? Can I leave my kids dirty diapers in your trash too? They really stink.

We do it only if it's trash day, the cans have not been emptied, the cans are at the end of a driveway or curb, and we can tuck our baggie in among the other trash. This is rare though as we try to keep our walks to streets and paths with city/park cans and have trained the dog to go near city cans.

(No, before you ask, I'm not carrying it miles back to my house. Dogs are a part of city life. Deal with it, haters.)

Your dog, your poop. Deal with it, hater.

I have no problem with it if that's the case. Just don't come on my property to do it (if the trash isn't out for collection).

There was a ton of rain today in DC area.
Turned our privately owned trash cans upside down and was met with a water logged bag of dog poor racing towards me.
Our cans our inside our property.
Seriously can't wait to see who did this as there are only 3 dogs in the whole neighborhood.

People - you own the dog and the poop so PLEASE put it in your own garbage can. It smells horrific baking in the summer sun in the trash can and it is your dog not mine- so please do not place it in anyone's trash other then your own!
