You're failing to comprehend that no one would be ranting if the rest of the Calendar was at all fair and in the best interest of students. But it's not-it caters to politicians. |
Um hmm that is why you brought up the calendar on the weather thread because the calendar bothers you. Okay. Sure. And you only did it after the closure was announced. You should seek out the calendar thread to complain about the calendar. |
The issues are interrelated moron |
Exactly. You start with a calendar that already ran a week longer than usual, and then throw in two special elections and a lot of bad weather. It’s unfortunate. |
Is it possible that the person or people arguing about the fact that these things are related REALLY doesn’t understand this? Or is there a reason they are upset that people are commenting on the calendar? I genuinely don’t get the confusion. |
| Good call, OP! |
I’m the moron? Look at this quote from earlier in the thread: “The problem is not the weather. It’s the calendar which is a travesty and needs to be changed ASAP to prioritize full weeks of instruction” And now, people are posting that they are interrelated. Well, that is progress at least! Good luck to all in the storm tomorrow. I hope it breaks up and doesn’t hit anyone hard! |
I think you have a comprehension issue. You people whine about this issue only when the weather is bad. Have an issue go yell at the board meetings-tomorrow has the potential to be dangerous. FCPS really should be closing for everyones safety. |
This aged well. |
I believe they have 13 days and 4 hours built in. Elementary schools use up 4 of those days on early release Wednesdays, so they start at 9 days and 4 hours. Then we add in the special elections and they’re down to 7 days and 4 hours. Full snow day closures ate up 4 days and 4 hours. So that’s 3 days left. Then delayed openings, there were… 6? Which is the equivalent of 2 days. Leaving 1 day left. With the 3 hour early release do elementary schools only have 3 hours left? Are they going to finish the school year at 993 hours, assuming no other closures? |
|
Because the two issues compound one another. Do you really not get it???? |
| I suspect they will cancel. Check tomorrow morning. According to CWG, we could have tornadoes as early as mid-morning. |
| SACC still hasn’t released their plan for tomorrow. Some elementary schools will release as early as noon. |
