Wait and see? Um no. If voters don't want a bill to be enacted, or portions of it, they should speak up - contact your elected officials. They represent us, it's their job. |
Why would I want government to run a surplus? How stupid is that? |
You think running a deficit is better? |
| Why are there bills to eliminate minimum sentencing for rape, murder and child porn? Why is this first day priorities for VA democrats? |
I want the government to use the tax dollars it receives to improve the lives of the citizens of this state. Our schools are underfunded, our teachers underpaid, our safety net is an embarrassment, and there’s plenty to fix. Keep your $400 and give me some value for the money. |
Services sales taxes are paid by those paying for the service. I think the ladies dropping $500 plus tip on a full color and cut every 8 weeks can find an extra bucks. Same with those dropping $4k a year on lawn mowing. |
We have to have a balanced budget, so not sure why you think that would happen. Spanberger can’t just add $3T to the debt while cutting services for every day Americans like Trump and the National GOP can. |
100% |
Absolutely. 100%. Have you confused government with being a business or a household? |
No wonder Republicans keep driving up our national debt. |
Now do the list of “first day priorities” for state Republicans, too. Your histrionics are so boring. And they make you sound like you fundamentally don’t understand how government works. I get that you are just trying to be a bad-faith, provocative jerk, but you only manage to come off looking like you just fell off the turnip truck. |
Same reason you want to have an emergency fund, just in case money is needed to help in a natural disaster or other emergency. Any surplus beyond that contingency fund is returned to the taxpayer as Governor Youngkin did on two occasions. |
| I’m dumbfounded by the Democratic priorities (and I voted for Spanberger). First, raise a host of taxes with little justification. Next, the legislature is going to pass a series of gun control bills that will do next to nothing for public safety. These priorities play right into the hands of Republicans. Democrats in Virginia should focus on jobs and housing - and NOTHING else until they make progress on those issues. |
