Iced out for not being liberal

Out of touch is coming on DCUM looking for support for this. Wrong room.

No, it's not. Some people don't make being liberal and talking politics their whole entire identity and that's ok too.

OP said she's being excluded for being MAGA so she's clearly saying something. Also, your comment is just wrong. Being silent about what is going on is being complicit, and I'm about as far from a radical liberal as you could find (I'm actually a former Republican).

How is this even possible in this climate?

Do you live in DC, OP? There's no way you do and you are this clueless. Which leads me to the conclusion that you're a troll.

You mean the attempted rapist told victim he was an ICE agent? That's not actually a real ICE agent.

People sounding like Sally Bowles in Cabaret.

"It'll all work itself out.
After all, it's only politics, and what's that got to do with us?"

While I do think the persecution complex of conservatives is tiresome -- they really need to stop demanding that everyone tolerate their intolerance -- it goes a long way towards explaining the cult that is MAGA. They are so desperate for community and validation that when they find it, they cling to it, even at the expense of recognizing what they're being asked to support is often heinous, unamerican and inhumane.

Sorry, that's just your opinion. It is my choice to remain "apolitical," at least in public. If you don't like that, too bad.

That is your choice, of course. My choice is not to be around you or people like you.

Exactly, lol

Right wingers (especially the educated) are much more tolerant of viewpoint diversity.

There is a video Of an ice agent raping someone in portable potty. A don john. While the other ice agent waited in the car.

You're just finding out which people are worth associating with. The people judging you are not people you want as friends anyway, inasmuch as they are defining their relationship with you in exclusively political terms, which is odious.

You can find people to connect with who are much more well-rounded, more open-minded, less gratuitously critical of the viewpoints of others, and who relationships are based on non-political shared interests and values.

yep, tolerance isn't a right, for either side. MAGA don't tolerate LGBTQ, for example, so why should MAGA expect tolerance from others?

That only worked when elected republicans at least tried to hide their fascist and racist views. A friend who wants to lower income tax? Fine. A friend who supports a rapist president who staged a coup, denied election results, wants to take over other countries, use unlawful force on the population etc? Sorry, I’m not recruiting friends like that. I have a quota for people like that and it’s currently filled by people I have to tolerate (like extended family) and maybe old friends who I can’t cut out. And btw, none of these people are openly maga. They at least seem to know they should be ashamed by it.

All of this and there isn’t even a lower income tax! I mean, if 14 million people are going to die following usaid cuts, there should at least be lower taxes or a decrease in the national debt.

I agree with this.

Any educated conservatives I know feel they have to hide their views or risk being shunned. I am liberal myself and do not follow this practice. Sorry OP. You need to hide your real views or find different friends.

Can’t believe people are trying to gaslight us into agreeing that “right wingers” are more tolerant. You mean the people that stormed the Capitol. The cult members wearing Trump paraphernalia? My person fave was a shirt I saw in a very upscale resort town that said “If you don’t like Trump, you aren’t gonna like me.” Very tolerant.

Besides, on Wall Street, no one is scared to be a MAGAT. They are highly educated and will argue till the end of time how Trump is still better than the Dems. Exhibit A Bill F-ing Ackman. My husband has to cut off conversation with these people with a “I’m a liberal” at the outset to close down the conversation. They think they can convert him since they don’t care about morals and are all greedy, millionaire/billionaire b@stards.
