For Lt Gov, though, I HATE that Hashmi is for the Tyson's casino, so I'm thinking of voting for Reid. I looked at his website and except for not supporting trans kids, I liked his platform.

For AG, I really think I will write in a candidate or not vote. I cannot vote for either of them and I'm sick of voting for the Democrat just because. I think that's the problem on both sides across our country.

Convince me otherwise - I'm going to early vote next week.

I am appalled by your ability to just brush that off. Do you know any trans kids? Or trans adults, for that matter?

Hate to break this to you but most Americans prioritize other issues like the economy, health care coverage, and immigration FAR higher than trans issues.

Why do republicans hate trans people so much? I don't understand it. I don’t see other people’s medical choices or what they choose to wear as my business.

It’s a reality issue. I literally don’t care what someone does with their health or body or gender or sexuality. But people who ignore biological reality are weird and dangerous. They are legislating on misrepresented science. That is scary. What’s to stop them from doing it with literally any other issue if they do it for this?

I mean, religious people do this every single day. The right has set its sights on birth control now that they have abortion banned at 6 weeks in many states. No “baby” is surviving being born at six weeks and yet women are being forced to die to “save” them. To say nothing of the torture that is conversion therapy for gay people. You are born gay. Penguins are born gay. It’s part of nature’s way.

The reality is gender and sex is a lot more complicated than the religious right lets on. I don’t know that it is any more complicated than it used to be but my aunt born in 1950 has the build of a 10-year old boy and lacks a uterus, and no one calls her anything other than a woman.

There's no such thing as a good GOP candidate. Those days are way over.

I am glad the border is secure, immigration laws being enforced and that trans activism is being challenged. But of course it is all being botched and people are being unnecessarily hurt, so the pendulum is likely to swing back hard.

However, Trump, Musk, and Vought have hurt my family and my neighbors. They are ruining our economy in NoVA. Someone does need to stand up to them.

I will likely vote all blue for state, even though I am not crazy about any of the 3. I wish Spanberger would recognize that there are 2 sexes and while we can act compassionately towards nonconforming individuals, the school districts have really failed on this issue and definitions of who is male and female should not be decided locally, just as the definition of human rights should not be different depending on what state you live in. And the casino is a no for me. Why don’t these people listen to their constituents?

But I will vote for them anyway because Trump is hurting us and someone needs to push back.

I won’t, however, vote Dem for local or school board people. FCPS is a mess and won’t get any better unless they are held accountable.

You are an idiot and a threat to American democracy. You should be banned from voting and locked up in a nut house.

You are conflating sex and gender.

People do that all the time. Just like they struggle to separate poverty and race.

So you’re in favor of same sex spaces for biological females and women’s only sports? Because I’m talking about allowing males into women’s prisons because they say that they feel like a woman. Doesn’t seem to be like I’m the one conflating sex and gender.

That is not what it means to be trans

Sure does when you are continuing to focus on sex, not gender.

Look around! Our country is being attacked from within! Transgender issues are nowhere near the top of the concern list no matter how much Sears exclusively focuses on them.

+1

Only the bigots think this is remotely important.

Republicans don't do this which is why Republicans control more state legislatures, governors' offices, and House and Senate seats than Democrats.

Why would anyone want to vote purely red or blue in this political climate???

You clearly don’t live in northern Virginia.

What I don’t get is would you really feel safer with a trans male in the women’s room? Someone who presents male gives you less concern than someone who presents female?

Because the GOP is tearing down our country.

Perfect example of the far left and far right being much closer to each other than either side realizes or admits.

I also cannot vote for all Blue in Virginia. the casino is an awful idea. Jones is a wreck.

but it is another example of why Democrats are cluelss.

look at Rep Surovell. A divorce lawyer leading the push to allow casinos in Tysons. low life snake, will do anything for a buck.

Because they are female.
