VA voting - democrat thinking about not voting all blue

I am a moderate. I didn’t vote for Harris or Trump, but when Trump won, I skeptically thought there was a chance he might do a good job. I am glad the border is secure, immigration laws being enforced and that trans activism is being challenged. But of course it is all being botched and people are being unnecessarily hurt, so the pendulum is likely to swing back hard.

However, Trump, Musk, and Vought have hurt my family and my neighbors. They are ruining our economy in NoVA. Someone does need to stand up to them.

I will likely vote all blue for state, even though I am not crazy about any of the 3. I wish Spanberger would recognize that there are 2 sexes and while we can act compassionately towards nonconforming individuals, the school districts have really failed on this issue and definitions of who is male and female should not be decided locally, just as the definition of human rights should not be different depending on what state you live in. And the casino is a no for me. Why don’t these people listen to their constituents?

But I will vote for them anyway because Trump is hurting us and someone needs to push back.

I won’t, however, vote Dem for local or school board people. FCPS is a mess and won’t get any better unless they are held accountable.

After a lot of thought I’ve decided to vote for Spanberger for governor so we don’t lose abortion but I’m voting R for Lt gov and R for attorney general to make sure she doesn’t go too far with the dum dum Dem gender and crime rigmarole.

First, they are independent of each other. The legislature is very close so the Lt. governor does the only thing that they have power to do, cast a deciding vote. The Virginia legislature is the one that came up with the whole vaginal probe bill, so they have plenty of bad ideas. The AG needs to defend your rights. Rs don’t go that anymore. They are legislating on misrepresented science. That is scary. What’s to stop them from doing it with literally any other issue if they do it for this?

Spanberger is an empty bucket into which you pour policy. It's pretty clear she won't step out of line with the party platform, regardless of what it is at any given time.

So you’re in favor of same sex spaces for biological females and women’s only sports? Because I’m talking about allowing males into women’s prisons because they say that they feel like a woman. Doesn’t seem to be like I’m the one conflating sex and gender.
