El Salvador president Bukele will be meeting with Trump on Monday in the WH. Let’s see if they discuss this matter and what, if anything, comes of it. As of Friday, administration lawyers couldn’t/wouldn’t answer any of the judge’s questions about this deportee other than to confirm he was still in CECOT.

I only recall Biden’s student law forgiveness making its way to the Supreme Court, and a quick google search confirms Biden delivered remarks on the decision.

Deporting people without due process is one of Trump’s signature policies, so he should be able to speak about the details of this SCOTUS decision.

Explain how he's ignoring the Supreme Court, which only ruled that he needed to take steps to facilitate, not effectuate his return. If Trump asked and was rebuffed, or if El Salvador has conditions, then that is a matter of foreign diplomacy that the Court specifically ruled was outside the purview of the judicial branch.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was not eligible for deportation. In 2019, a U.S. immigration judge granted him "withholding of removal" status, which legally barred his deportation to El Salvador due to credible threats from local gangs. This protection was in place when he was mistakenly deported in March 2025, an action the Trump administration later acknowledged as an "administrative error."
