Misleading. Many aren’t American to begin with. Thanks to our weak educational system we have to outsource from other nations who aren’t necessarily our friends.

No, I don't know anyone leaving.

No one is leaving. This is our city. They are temporary occupants.

"Net domestic outmigration, by contrast, remains high both in Arlington and across Northern Virginia. Regionally, nearly 15,000 more people left Northern Virginia for other U.S. locations over the year than moved in. But that was more than offset by increases of about 33,500 from international areas."

NOVA is not DC. Once again.

Correct. It's the best we could do and is still an improvement over metro DC.

I would not risk going to hear a presentation by former president Obama at a large venue.

It is just not worth the risk.

We left for Los Angeles.

I bet! I want to pack a U-Haul tomorrow. When did you leave?

I wont look back either.

Nice! What was your process for moving out of state? Did you stay in Maine for a while? Or just do virtual tours? How did you pick a buyer agent? I would appreciate any advice here. Thank you!

I don't know of people fleeing, but I know a lot of people panicking about paying the mortgage, and a chunk of them are probably going to leave.

Fleeing DC isn't the right word. But there are definitely feds/contractors who lost their jobs unexpectedly and are moving to their location of choice now as they look for another job....it's harder to move for those who own homes and have kids in schools here, but I assume there will be a lot of turnover next year.

In my kid's 3rd grade class, I know of 7 fired parents already in a class of 25 kids. And these are just the ones I know of.
