Lol.

Check out the age brackets and figures for people age 100-400 to still collecting SS checks each month.

According to the BBC, “There is a 2023 report by the social security inspector general, external which identified about 19 million people born in 1920 or earlier with no death data on file - although only 44,000 of whom were still receiving benefits.”

“Only 44,000 people,” - multiplied by how much money, every month, year upon year?

You do realize there are people who are 103, right?

This too.

He is never going to look at disability fraud, because what he is going to find is a ton of MAGA voting coal miners and former tradesmen who never bothered with finding other work.

Red states would collapse.

Urban city and state public union worker fraud would be uncovered.

Does SSA still assume average life spans of only 65 yo? Oops.

And what’s their discount rate been the last 15 years?

And any other key actuarial assumptions for how solvent this thing actually is. Or shall we say Is Not.

My guess, bankrupt in 15 years time.

And this is exactly why they are approaching everything with an axe instead of a scalpel. If they really start looking into specific people who are abusing the system, specific feds who are low performers, specific people who did not get their jobs based on merit…they will learn things about particular demographics they don’t really want to know.

I mean, why not walk in to each agency’s HQ and inquire about personnel with low performance reviews and fire those people?

No one in the government gets a low performance review. At worst, meets expectations.

How many of those 44,000 people are still alive at age 104 and en titled to benefits? More than 0.

I'm glad they are checking into this. I think people are collecting on their parents who are dead. They probably never notified SSA about their parents death and grand parents death and are collecting. I wouldn't be surprised if scammers caught on to this and are collecting. They need to further investigate and prosecute these people.

They said 8,700,000 people are committing fraud.

If so…the average social security recipient gets $21,396 per year. Multiply that by 8.7 million and you get $184 billion per year. Real money.

Looks like tens of millions of Social Security numbers are being reused for illegal immigrants.

Once Elon gets access to IRS data, we will see how many of them are collecting earned income tax credits.

Or line them up against voter registration data.

The funeral home, or county where they died informs Social Security of deaths now. This is what happened when my parents died in 2015 and 2018.

Like they have a body in their crawl space? My mother died last month, when the death certificate is filed (mortuary did this), SSA is notified. The direct deposit payment was back out of her account before I could even notify the bank she was deceased (didn't have the printed death certificate yet).

Just because you think it in your head doesn't mean it's that simple.

So you are willing to goose step into the future because maybe a few people are abusing social security?

Poorly educated, indeed.

Sounds great! Go get that money traitor tots.

Hint: the vast majority of this people are Republicans. But, since they love owning the libs, I'm sure they wouldn't mind being shipped off the work in the fields.
