School delayed and no sports or activities for 3 days straight just for cold weather?!?

You know the morons braying about the incompetence of school districts would be the first to sue them if their kid got hurt on the ice.

They're just very aggressive people who are never happy. Whenever anything doesn't go how they want, they HAVE to look around for someone to blame and excoriate them. Schools are such useful targets for this. During the pandemic, they cyberbullied teachers on DCUM in the most awful way.

This is just a continuation of that. Hate, hate, hate, all the time. They're mentally ill.

I just want my kid to go to school, so she can learn. That's not mentally ill.

How selfish. Think of the poor teacher that doesn't want to feel cold!

You can't grade while drunk or hungover.

DP. You and I know different teachers apparently.

You don't just want that if you also stamp your feet and scream on DCUM. The majority is wisely resigned - a few days off is not going to change anything in my children's learning. I know, they're old enough for me to see the consequences. One is in college after K-12 in MCPS. Snow days and delays do not hurt children's education.

But parental attitudes do have an impact on children's psychological wellbeing. Teach them to be reasonable. Don't teach them to have fits of rage over a 2hr delay.

Like in the pandemic, the school system and their apologists are lying in an attempt to justify poor decisions.

The delays have nothing to do with coats or poor families. The parking lots need to be cleared and safe which they can’t do if the cars are parked there.

Cleared from what? The snow stopped on Sunday. The lots could have been cleared and treated on Sunday night. If not, then on Monday. This is total incompetence as usual.

+1 incompetence and entitlement made worse by the pandemic

You know real teachers. The obnoxious PP just likes to throw anti-teacher nonsense around. Best to ignore.

They never fail. Pathetic.

Frederick has a 2 hour delay tomorrow, PG has a 2 hour delay tomorrow, and Baltimore County has a 2 hour delay tomorrow. Others may announce soon.

Blame the weather, not MCPS. People wanted lots of warning before closures, so now Taylor is giving lots of warning.

Lol, I think you misunderstood. The teachers I know grade drunk or hungover all the time. If they didn't nothing would ever get graded.

Don’t remotely believe you.

I suspect you’re the same poster who is just gleefully insulting teachers on these delay threads. I’m sure you find it fun (or something), but I’m confident most posters just find you obnoxious and immature.

Please name the private schools because ours opened on time today without any issues.

They don't count. They don't have teachers' unions or leaders that are indirectly selected by teachers' unions.

And that’s why we make a lot of sacrifices to pay tuition for our child to attend one. It is worth every penny.

Honestly, I do my best grading while drunk or hungover.

Why do you care about MCPS then? Yours doesn't have the busses like MCPS does and the other issues.

What's with the teacher bashing? We had some teachers working on the snow days, others not. We got stuff graded, emails...
