And here I thought conspiracy theories were mostly a right-winged thing…. |
But it's not a conspiracy theory. It happened and we all watched. Just because they cleaned up their act for now doesn't mean each one of the APEs doesn't erase just how badly they acted in 2020-22. And what they say in here when they're anon proves it even more. You just want everyone to forget and pretend it never happened. Gaslighting 101. |
They have advocated for a lot of things that are important to me as an APS teacher and parents since then. I was really against them due to their vitriol during the Covid shut down, but I think they’ve proven to be a good advocacy group. |
+1 It's a group formed by MAGA/MAGA adjacent people. One works for a Koch company. We saw how they bullied others. We see how they continue to quietly support Youngkin and push RWNJ stories. We will not forget. |
How would trans kids’ lives be ruined if Rives were on the school board? Honest question because your statement reeks of hyperbole. |
^ And they have been infiltrating various APS committees and parenting email lists. As if we don't remember how horrible they acted. Shameless. |
DP. His position on transgender students is automatically disqualifying. |
They're super cozy with people in power. There's a pic online of them being super friendly with past, current, and future school board members. |
Just to clarify, what is that position? Is it parental notification/ permission needed for a student to change gender in the system? |
+1 He correctly takes the position that not all kids experiencing "confusion" or dysphoria or who are questioning their gender and sexuality are actually trans/homosexual/whatever. That's not "anti-trans." |
He advocated for APS to slow down and more thoughtfully consider more credible scientific sources of information before rushing to adopt its proposed policy. AGIA is going to oppose anyone who questions any single individual questioning their gender. |
You speak exactly like a MAGA. |
DP. That does not answer PP's question. I'm interested in the answer, too. Because what I've heard him say is not anti-trans, does not deny transgenderism - merely points out that many young people explore and question and wonder but ultimately determine they are not. I see nothing wrong with that. He's not advocating for schools to conduct conversion therapy or anything. |
Exactly this. This is also my view as a Democrat. |
yeah in other words he opposed the pro trans policy. It sounds like you do too. What do you think slow down means. And every credible medical authority is pro gender affirming care. No thanks to his and your alternative medical sources, whatever those are. It's scary that he's a psychiatrist out there treating people. We don't need him anywhere close to the school board. you either, go spew your anti trans hate somewhere else, it's not welcome in Arlington! |
