That's how polarized the US has become. As a liberal, I used to agree with progressives on most things but over the past decade or so, they lost their minds on most topics and aren't actually liberal anymore. They are like religious fundamentalists in their beliefs because there's nothing you can say or do that will change their minds.

They are also a fringe of the democrat party, not the leadership and not the core, but they are important to have in the tent to ensure some level of voting parity with the GOP. The alternative, given the polarization, is GOP in control of all facets of our government, and given where Trump and the GOP are right now, I will take a little kowtowing to the progressives in exchange for not living in a Christo-Fascist state. YMMV.

I don't know about this. I'm a moderate Dem and wokeness has me considering pulling a few red levers this year. There must be millions more like me who will take a moderate Republican (if we can find any) over a Democrat who takes too much wokeness into his/her platform.

If leftists hadn't tried to convince everyone that they don't really know what a woman is and that a man can get pregnant, RvW would probably still be intact. Leftists distract normal Dems from focusing on our bread and butter issues and that allows Republicans to get away with bs like overturning RvW.

Now that I've delved into it some more, it looks like those Republicans realize if they can get someone other than Trump on the ballot, it'll be a landslide for the Republicans especially if Trump endorses the candidate (which his ego won't allow him to do).
