“Colorado radicals just changed the game and we are not going to sit quietly while they destroy our Republic. To be clear, our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states.”
Fair. |
| Why are they willing to die on this hill? I just do not understand voting for someone who so blatantly broke laws and wipes his butt with the constitution? |
| Aren’t bills of attainder unconstitutional? |
Not really, but thanks for playing |
| Meh, these are individual lawmakers throwing tantrums. This kind of stuff doesn’t usually get traction. |
Not really. The grounds are baseless. The fact is, Trump "was engaged in an insurrection" - other than being a born American and over 35, those are the three requirements to be president. The GOP has zero grounds for this performative BS and all it does is further degrade our republic. So I guess in that sense it is on brand. The GOP and Trump legal filings suggest Biden is immune presidentially for his actions and that Kamala Harris has the right to change the course of electoral college vote counting, so I suppose they should have at it next year. |
| So many “strict constitutionalists” who really really don’t like this part of the constitution. |
The Ds control the governorship in two of these states, and the R governor is the third is on Trumps enemies list, so…. |
| The only political court cases Trump ever wins are delays to put off the inevitable L’s. This is no different. |
| I would prefer we just moot the issue entirely by convicting Trump of insurrection and hanging him before the next election. But the Constitution does provide an alternative. Insurrection is an absolute bar. |
I'm not a Trump fan but that is absolutely not a fact. It's an opinion. If he was convicted then you'd have a point. But he wasn't so you don't. |
It’s not an opinion. It’s a factual determination by a court after a trial. By your standard, a conviction is just an opinion too. |
| Once again Republicans making a mockery of everything. Despicable. |
I’m good with the first part. |
