In Bethesda. Is it over? It feels like it. |
Holy cow, there are some seriously cheap tickets on Stubhub. $10?!?! |
It definitely is over in Potomac. |
I can’t believe OPM shut down the government at 3pm for that. Well, no I can believe it. |
Sun coming through in Burke. Thank you God. Definitely a lull. Looking at the radar though, there's a blue and green blob coming later on. I'm fine with gentle rain. |
Again, you're a moron. |
What’s up with the tornado watch? That means one was spotted. Anyone see something? |
But there was a high probability things could go terribly wrong and smack during the peak of rush hour. I'm still scarred from Derecho. |
Oh, did you have a crazy storm at 3pm? 4 pm? 5pm? I think we all know who the morons are. Did you make this call for OPM or something? I hope you get fired. |
If they hadn’t shut down, and you were stuck in a tornadic storm on the beltway, I’m sure you would have zero complaints. |
A "watch" means the conditions are favorable. A "warning" means the conditions are current . |
m No it does not. |
56% of Carroll County is out of power. Meteorology cannot predict where the worse of the storm happens. Last week, it was inside the Beltway. This time, it's to the west and east. If the storm had hit DC violently, and OPM hadn't closed, there would have been a significant risk of fatalities. When you're making closing/opening decisions, this is what you think about. |
They told federal workers to leave their buildings before 3 pm. That was ridiculous. It caused a ridiculous amount of traffic right at 3 and then there was zero weather for 3 hours after that. Stupid. |
When would have been a better time? Not everyone has a cute 10 min commute home to Arlington |
