This is obviously dumb but how would it even be possible? It makes no sense. The admissions office would have to be screening for attractiveness or something.

I don’t think it’s intentional. I just think it ended up that way I have no idea why.

I was staying away from this thread, but I have to admit that my very smart and studious daughter who attends one of the other higher ranked girls schools knows quite a few girls who attend HC. Nice girls, but I kind of agree that there is a lot of focus on looks, makeup, and girly stuff in general among those girls. It could be that there are clicks that are not like that, but with the size of the school so small, those girls would probably be outcasts. That's one of the reasons my daughter who's not girly and doesn't wear makeup decided against HC and is attending a higher ranked school with more rigorous academics. Oh, and she's not homely...very cute and athletic. Just doesn't wear makeup or do TikTok videos.

Okay, Petty Patty.

So you “tried to stay away” and somehow in your efforts to only minimally participate in this conversation managed to insult the girls at Holy Child, while lauding your own daughter as “smart and studious” and going to a school with “more rigorous academics” at one of the “higher ranked girls schools.”

Since your kid doesn’t attend HC, you actually have NO idea what the academics are like. And newsflash, there is no *official* ranking of private girls schools. You’ve only confirmed that your daughter doesn’t like/know how to put on makeup, doesn’t like social media and is easily intimidated by attractive, well put together teens from wealthy families. Not sure where, in 2023, she will fit in socially with that profile.

LOL. She doesn’t need makeup because of her long dark eyelashes, dark eyes and tanned skin. She has used makeup for certain occasions. But not at school. She is not intimated by anyone lol. She has social media but just lurks. She is living a
very health teen life as a strong athlete and top performer academically. She is much more mature than others her age. Oh and our net worth and income is such that people would consider us wealthy. We don’t flaunt it though.

I LOVE DCUMs for threads like these. The comedy here is outstanding. There are posts after posts discussing the college applications process. Some people are stressed about grades and SAT/ACT scores. On this post others are concerned about how attractive their teenage daughters are and use of makeup and how much their "net worth" is. Wow.

You just confirmed that you would not fit in socially with HC’s elite families.

Sad.

There’s nothing elite about HC. Elite and HC shouldn’t even be used in the same sentence.

Christians admittedly aren’t “elite” Jesus doesn’t like that sin. They are happy, healthy, and saved which is awesome.

What an embarrassing thread, this is.

Laughing my head off.

Holy Cross girls are very average looking, generally speaking. The weirdo parents on here who are trying to get us to believe HC girls are especially pretty already know their daughters aren’t very smart (as evidenced by their enrollment at HC). These desperate parents are grasping at straws. Sad.

We are talking about Holy Child, you nitwit - not that bargain basement school in the hoods of Kensington. Sniff!

Holy Child is a lovely and warm community that simultaneously focuses on learning and joy. It’s a mere coincidence, not a requirement, that the girls are also very beautiful.

Let me guess, do you have a “no hate in this house” type of sign in your yard?

Snobby about what? Attending a 4th tier school with mediocre college admissions results?

Does it not creep anyone else out the way adults talk about children on this website?

Yes. I have no dog in the fight about HC, but these mean comments are too much. Lots of rich people in Potomac did not go to the " best schools" and ended up rich nonetheless. Not everyone can or wants to go to STA and then Harvard. Nothing against that, but the world is a big place. Live and let live.

The irony of this thread is that the top tier school parents seem far more snobby than any Hold Child parent.

DP. The owners are stereotypically the most hateful people.
