I was staying away from this thread, but I have to admit that my very smart and studious daughter who attends one of the other higher ranked girls schools knows quite a few girls who attend HC. Nice girls, but I kind of agree that there is a lot of focus on looks, makeup, and girly stuff in general among those girls. It could be that there are clicks that are not like that, but with the size of the school so small, those girls would probably be outcasts. That's one of the reasons my daughter who's not girly and doesn't wear makeup decided against HC and is attending a higher ranked school with more rigorous academics. Oh, and she's not homely...very cute and athletic. Just doesn't wear makeup or do TikTok videos.

Okay, Petty Patty.

So you “tried to stay away” and somehow in your efforts to only minimally participate in this conversation managed to insult the girls at Holy Child, while lauding your own daughter as “smart and studious” and going to a school with “more rigorous academics” at one of the “higher ranked girls schools.”

Since your kid doesn’t attend HC, you actually have NO idea what the academics are like. And newsflash, there is no *official* ranking of private girls schools. You’ve only confirmed that your daughter doesn’t like/know how to put on makeup, doesn’t like social media and is easily intimidated by attractive, well put together teens from wealthy families. Not sure where, in 2023, she will fit in socially with that profile.

LOL. She doesn’t need makeup because of her long dark eyelashes, dark eyes and tanned skin. She has used makeup for certain occasions. But not at school. She is not intimated by anyone lol. She has social media but just lurks. She is living a very health teen life as a strong athlete and top performer academically. She is much more mature than others her age. Oh and our net worth and income is such that people would consider us wealthy. We don’t flaunt it though.

Sure, hon. Your daughter is beautiful because she has dark eyes and long lashes? So does Dora the Explorer. And I’m sure you’re wealthy - this is what wealthy women do - hang out in this thread and pick on high school girls just because they are pretty. You are sad.

Wait, I never said they were pretty. I said they like to use makeup and do tik tok videos. They're high maintenance. That's not necessarily pretty. Anyone can do what they are doing and look amazing, including my daughter. To me (and my daughter), this is shallow behavior.

I KNOW you never said they were pretty. You would never admit this because you and your Dora the Explorer daughter are jealous of their looks. End of conversation. Now go do “high income” that people of “wealth” do on a Friday afternoon. Scat!

As it has been said more than more on this chain- some people peak in 8th grade, some in 12th, and some at 35. All of these girls will be just fine. If you think the “Big 3” (which no one who was born and raised in this city, and has a lick of social prominence calls it) will set you kid up for life, than I have some bad news for you…

And as evidenced by this thread, some people, especially insecure middle aged women, NEVER peak.

They are known to be gorgeous.

Not based on the graduating seniors featured on Instagram. Those are very regular looking girls you see everyday on the street.

Not true.

They are known to be the "prettiest" girls. Ask any DC areas HS guy.

(However looks aren't important)

Exactly. This is what my son’s friends say. They are at GP and Gonzaga. Not to mention the public school boys who drool over them.

“GP and Gonzaga” boys? Self-esteem, like water, seeks its own level. I prefer that my daughters do not hang out with boys from those schools. However, GP and Gonzaga are on the same level as HC girls, I assume. Carry on.

Ummm, are you aware that Gonzaga and GP are the #1 and #2 ranked boys' schools? I see only the best for you daughter - Wheaton High School it is!

Yes, this is funny.

That's 'CLIQUES', mom of the "very smart studious daughter who attends one of the higher ranked girls schools."

Yes, as evident by their snobby mom’s (above). Apple does not fall far from the tree.

All of you come off as so very insecure. Spending your time denigrating children. One expects the gratuitous insults of students in public schools - so typical and arrogant. Holding up your child as a paragon while abusing other children, especially the posters who don’t name their own “elite and academically rigorous” (ooo!) school, even on an anonymous board - so pathetic and gutless.

And yes, I am critiquing you like you are critiquing children. But you are supposedly adults. And you richly deserve the criticism.

Apparently they don’t teach class. Oddly I find this attitude prevalent among the moms
Those at all girls schools - less so at the co-ed ones. Not sure why that is.

What Catholic schools do you know of that are accepting of "non-binary gender expression"? Really, tell us.

They're known to be the prettiest, by far, by all the private boys schools. This likely goes to their heads a bit.

This is obviously dumb but how would it even be possible? It makes no sense. The admissions office would have to be screening for attractiveness or something.

Holy Cross girls are very average looking, generally speaking. The weirdo parents on here who are trying to get us to believe HC girls are especially pretty already know their daughters aren’t very smart (as evidenced by their enrollment at HC). These desperate parents are grasping at straws. Sad.

Sounds like you don’t know the difference between AHC and HC.

Maybe YOU are the one who isn’t very smart, PP.

Sad.

Yes, there is non-binary gender expression at all girls Catholic schools in the DMV. I know of at least one girl at HC and more at SR and VISI. I am quite sure there are some at AHC as well. Schools are accepting of their identity. But unlike the public schools, teachers aren't hitting students over the head with the ideology. It's accepted, but not necessarily celebrated.
