I have seen MANY all girls come through here through the years and Holy Child students are consistently like this. I can’t honestly say this about students from other all girls schools.

So HC girls are hard working, thoughtful, AND beautiful. No wonder the NCS Moms are so jealous and snarky.

Lol—I don’t think most NCS Moms have even heard of HC. I’m also quite certain the two applicant pools don’t overlap.

There you go again.

I'm a NP, and my kids don't go to a single sex school, nor do they go to a religious school, but it is objectively true that NCS is more competitive than HC by a mile. Claiming NCS moms would be jealous of HC kids/moms is a little absurd.

still going!

The girls at NCS aren't as aesthetically charismatic per the local private school boys. Also you're comparing a school in the suburbs with a city school - "apples to oranges."

Aesthetically charming? Really? How old are you? 14?

The casual misogyny displayed by Holy Child boosters repeatedly talking about how pretty the girls are as if women/girls should be judged on their looks and valued for that. It’s a huge turn off for parents that chose to send their child to an all girls school to learn in an environment that focuses on girls’ academic achievement and empowerment of women. HC boosters make their school sound like a finishing school. Gross. And NCS posters, you are better than this.

could we get rid of the word "misogyny" the way that we got rid of "bossy" a few years ago? whenever a woman uses that word she diminishes herself.

No. I won’t stop calling you out for judging women on their looks and extolling beauty as some sort of virtue. But I’d love to hear more about how you think that is okay and how I’m diminishing myself. You are gross and a misogynist.

I can't tell if you are serious or not. if you are, then thanks for proving my point. you don't portray yourself as a pleasant or attractive person (on the inside or outside). if you were spoofing uptight private school Moms, then, well played.

Could you please point me to the dcum threads where we talk about the all boys schools that have the best looking boys and the boys that all the girls want to date? Oh, there aren’t any? That’s really strange… Please read the following article, poster. It perfectly describes you:

“Internalized misogyny is when women subconsciously project sexist ideas {judging women’s values by their looks} onto other women and even onto themselves.”

https://info.umkc.edu/womenc/2018/11/16/internalized-misogyny-what-does-it-look-like-how-do-you-stop-it/

so now we have woman vs. woman misogyny? is that like white on white racism? you people have lost your minds.

by the way, this thread started off asking if Holy Child girls are snobby, and it sounds like they are the opposite. Warm, kind, supportive, and beautiful on top of that. Who was asking if they are snobby and why would anybody have even thought that?

I am a different poster but I would agree. I had not heard about Holy Child until seeing this thread. I am sure it is a nice school but definitely not known to many in DC.

It’s in the suburbs. It’s in Potomac/Bethesda. It’s Catholic. The families at holy child. Also don’t think about NCS. They’re just very different.

Yeah, but I’m sure most HC parents have at least heard of NCS. The reverse is probably not the case.

Um, yup. I mean, ironically NCS is actually full of the kids that couldn't get into Sidwell. This is common knowledge in the entire region.

This is a non sequitur. You didn’t answer why it is okay to judge girls on their looks or how I diminish my self by calling you out. I love, too, that you literally couldn’t help yourself from calling me ugly. All feminists must be uptight and ugly, amirite? Thanks for proving my point.
