I definitely think it’s a possibility, especially given the fact that she has an adult son with special needs and it wouldn’t have been as easy to just pick up and leave. Not to mention that they also had a daughter together. There are plenty of people who stay in far less than ideal marriages because of kids or for financial reasons.

PP here. This is the type of thing I am taking about - how could she be this deaf, dumb and blind? As if the wife left when everyone else found out (although I know men who were publicly found out and the wife stayed - but no murders.....yet....)

The wife probably just knew he was a sex pervert and kept his magazines and goodies down there, so she stayed away. She's disabled and so is her son. Now her daughter's job won't exist anymore and they won't be able to stay in their house. He probably got paid (bribes) in cash for "consulting on zoning codes" and made it so they were poor on paper.
