I think it is a 4 way race right now with a few dark horses that could pull off a surprise win if teams overlook them come playoff time

Not sure who the four are. I think it is five - LB, Yorktown, Battlefield, Madison, and Robinson. Robinson lost to Madison by 2 and Yorktown by 1 so they are definitely in the mix. They looked equal to Yorktown that whole game.

I agree with this…with Langley, Oakton, and McLean as potential post season spoilers

Not a 6A team but I would add that Atlee is most likely the best public school team in VA this year based on who and how they have played.

Probably true - their dominant win against Woodberry Forest was most impressive. Played them better than SSSA did. Will be interested to see their game with Riverside. Unfortunately, there is no overall VA state champion, just class champs.

Langley and Oakton for sure. Not sold on McLean yet. They are going to have to beat someone better than Centreville (in overtime) to be in the discussion. We will see when they get Langley, Lake Braddock and Westfield in a seven day stretch if they are legit.

Expecting the top seeds to win these two:

West Potomac v Lake Braddock
Woodson v Robinson

Other games on tap tonight that could be competitive:

Alexandria City v South County
McLean v Herndon
Fairfax v West Springfield

Langley plays Robinson Saturday night on the road. We will find out then whether they are a factor.

Riverside is not the same as last years team or teams of the past. They might not even be the best team in their own division this year.

Exactly. If Atlee can't beat Riverside then they are not as good as advertised. If they beat Riverside and Freeman, then they will be the best 4/5 team for sure. Won't get to see them play Lake Braddock or Yorktown though.

Vegas line is LB -8. Still taking LB.

13-2. These two teams are not in the same league talent-wise.
