can you post a link to the information/announcement?

I havent seen anything from FCDC yet.

FCDC is changing the date they communicated to the candidates a few days ago because they can’t find an “available” location. Wouldn’t you look for locations BEFORE you announce a date? Check the Ffx County community use calendar with Neighborhood and Community Services. It’s not hard to find a school cafeteria/library/gym available on a random Saturday in October/November.

No doubt the FCDC will do everything they can to stack the deck in Frisch’s favor. I have no doubt that Holly Seibold would appeal to more local residents if they were aware of her candidacy but the FCDC will just look for ways to make Frisch’s nomination a foregone conclusion. And that’s a shame because Frisch completely sucks as a public official.

Will there be a special election for his school board seat if he wins this house of delegates seat? Any idea what our options would be?

*I'm sorry, I don't wish for him to be in the VA house, but I also just hate, hate, hate him as our representative on the school board. I had one meeting with him and he was so rude and mansplained and talked over me and I never want to have anything to do with him ever again.

The simple fact is that Blake Ln should have never been considered for an ES
. Big kudos to Fritsch for stopping that unnecessary and wasteful plan.

The property was purchased to be a school, and we desperately need a school in that area. Neighboring schools are over capacity. Honestly the dog park thing was the nicest gloss you could put on the straight up NIMBYism driving the opposition.

Show me the CIP data that shows that a school is desperately needed there.

DP but there sure as hell is no need for a new school at the Dunn Loring site.

I see for a previous special election, all voters could vote in the firehouse primary - is that thought to be the case with this election?

Yes you can. The new boundaries aren't really in effect until later 2023, so if Keam was your delegate, you can vote in this special election.

This has to be some kind of sock puppet who keeps writing this stuff. Compared to so many people who have been on. The SB in the last 15 years or more, Frisch has stood out as being unremarkable. He’s well spoken, pretty responsive in my experience, and has been in the mainstream on the vast majority of SB decisions. He doesn’t waste board time and he doesn’t grandstand. So why the hate? Because he’s gay? Because he has a teacher in his family?

As for supporting virtual learning during the months before a COVID vaccine was widely available, he was certainly in the mainstream for that. Only Megan differentiated herself by being grandstanding and argumentative with the Superintendent so she could walk the tightrope of looking like she supported those who wanted all buildings open while in reality staying in the mainstream and supporting temporarily virtual learning.

It just strikes me as really fishy that there is this concerted scrum of negativity about Frisch when he doesn’t stand out in actual school board meetings. He doesn’t bloviate or ask stupid questions. He doesn’t waste time. He’s not a grandstander. I don’t know what his over all track record is in terms of responsiveness but he has responded to me the few times I wrote to more than one SB rep.

Personally, the biggest red flag that screams to me about this other candidate Holly is that she brags about having Chap Peterson’s endorsement. Chap! is no progressive Democrat, so I question her bona tides as a progressive if she is touting his support.

Karl, we know it's you.

Frisch's poor decisions are documented in this thread. He doesn't deserve his current position, much less a new one.

Have you watched the school board meetings? I watched most over Covid. His input was not useful or substantive. On top of that I have a huge issue in principle with people without skin in the game through kids in the system being on the board. (Omeish also does not belong on it for this reason - in addition to SO many others).

He also has that creepy blog which is all PR and no substance.

He is useless scum. Bottom of the barrel. He's done nothing positive for the community. All he cares is advancing his own self.

Show me the CIP data that shows that a school is desperately needed there.

I don’t know what is in the CIP, but there are more than 650 new homes opening in the Providence neighborhood in the next year. If 1% of those homes have school aged kids, Providence will be back over capacity.

If a Fairfax City-owned school gets overcrowded, Fairfax City just demands that FCPS pull county kids out of the school. They don’t care if it overcrowds a school owned by the county. Unfortunately, if there’s a need for more seats at a nearby school it will be a long, long time before they get built because Frisch will have already spent that money elsewhere - on a project that isn’t needed - and there’s only so much available for schools in one magisterial district. He’s such a jackass for not consulting more with the community before he pulled this stunt.

Nope. Unless Karl has been on a concerted effort to sock puppet here since 2012, pretending to be a pregnant woman and then a young mom and someone with marriage problems and someone with stepdaughter challenges and someone with travel questions and lots of thoughts on parenting and nursing and children’s books and adoption, I’m pretty sure Jeff could tell you that my IP address is quite unlikely to be that of a gay male politician with no children. I mean, some people put a lot of time into sock puppetry, but that would be next level. Hundreds and hundreds of hours over a decade just to write something like warmly positive about himself? Unlikely.

Karl, we know it's you.
