She's anti-abortion which means she is against women getting necessary healthcare, so no, I would not vote for her. Being anti-abortion is an extreme position no matter how "moderate" she seems in relation to the even crazier people.

I admit that before Dobbs I might not be so single-issue on this, but there's just no way I would vote for any anti-abortion candidates at this stage after seeing the implications of Dobbs. And I have a lot of issues with Biden, no faith at all that Harris would make a good president. But I'll still vote for them since they won't work actively to put my life in danger.

She voted in favor of 93% Trump's agenda, more so than most other Republicans in Congress. She fully supported everything Trump stood for, but drew the line when it was demanded she get behind his Big Lie. She is not even remotely a "RINO."

The GOP is completely off the rails for getting behind Trump and his Big Lie.

Liz is about to have an epiphany re: abortion

The majority of voters support abortion ban after 15 weeks with exceptions for rape, incest, and health of the mother. Would you consider that a pro-life or pro-choice position?

So you think the majority of voters support Lousiana forcing a woman to carry a fetus with no brain to term?

I tend to disagree with that assertion.

How about that 16 year old in Florida who's not mature enough for an abortion, per the court, so must carry the baby to term. Do you think most people think that's a great ruling?

I am the PP here. First of all, there has historically, hopefully less so now, a lot of ignorance in the general population about abortion in general and pregnancy in general for that matter. So I don't particularly care what the polls say. In addition, as far as I am aware Liz Cheney is supportive of the Dobbs decision and therefore is perfectly fine with states banning abortion outright, which puts women's lives in danger. Noppity nope nope.

Btw I find the term "pro-life" incredibly dumb since as we have seen, abortion bans threaten women's lives and therefore are not pro-life, they are pro-death.

Louisiana's law allows for termination if 2 doctors concur that the fetus has no chance of survival after delivery. This would certainly apply to the case you reference.

No, that was a dumb ruling. My point was more about bringing some measure of nuance back to the debate. Abortion restrictions have always been in place and have always been supported by a majority of Democratic voters. We're in this weird place now where it's become hyper polarized and based on the soundbites you either have to be a theocratic lunatic who supports a total abortion ban or an amoral anarchist who supports free abortions up to the moment of natural delivery. This type of hyper polarization seems to excite activists (on both sides) but just leads to deadlock and hurts everybody else.

In what way do you think Liz Cheney's position on abortion is "nuanced"? She is anti-abortion, and celebrated the Dobbs decision. Just because she won't openly call for refusing rape victims abortions or say that ectopic pregnancies can be salvaged, does not mean that she is supportive of women's health. She is not. Btw "free abortions up to the moment of natural delivery" is not and never has been a thing and nobody supports that. The abortions that happen late term are done because of terrible circumstances. Doctors do not kill viable babies.

Except Roe and Casey were the nuanced middle ground. And the forced birthers lost their minds over it.

The warmonger Cheney family is out of the party! Thank god!

Die hard Dem and wouldn't vote for Cheney but like the idea of this women thing she is organizing to take down Trump. I will be on the battlements with anyone who gets that Motherf**ker locked up in prison or at least locked up in one of his mansions.
