Between their own FB and Twitter, they pushed this narrative and now don't want to own. In the end we all have to go back to school together and learn how to get along. All of these inflammatory tactics - targeting a student; packing the BOE meetings with people from your group, all saying the exact same thing with varying levels of nastiness is not at all helpful. My only hope is that their behavior does not trickle down to the students - God forbid a teacher has to deal with students who act like these parents. There is not enough money.

FYI - accusing people of doing something for which you have no evidence is not "learning how to get along"

They shared the video. That is a long way from 'coordinating an attack'

And, let be honest, we have to consider the severity of the 'attack'. From what I saw, the insults were pretty lame, and even as a teenager, most people would easily be able to laugh it off.

So when the BOE didn't pause for Reesman's kid's moment of silence (that Reesman clearly coordinated), that was awful, terrible, horrible!!! People from that group kept posting here about that incident until they realized it wasn't getting the traction they thought it would so they had the whole thread pulled. But when adults mock and call the SMOB names, her and her family should just "laugh it off"? It is this kind of hypocritical crap that causes that group to lose so much credibility.

Let me put it for you as simply as possible:

The group did not comment, or encourage people to make the comments. They were random trolls on the internet.

And yes, Reesman's kid should have just rolled with it, which is kind of what they did. They calmly left the podium; they didn't throw a hissy-fit like you're doing. And THEN!, when Wolff called her personally and apologized, Reesman immediately put that out on Social Media and gave her the credit she deserved for apologizing. Tell me, how could she have handled that better?

I'm still waiting to hear what the racist comments were that warranted the county council, the county exec, the BOE and the head of MCEA to chime in and condemn?

Reesman posted on social media about it and then her and her minions posted HERE too, expecting a groundswell of support, which they did not get. I was watching the post in real time. Grown adults (yes, from that same group) also picked on the SMOB. Let's take the racial comments out of it for a minute - the fact that they are picking on a high schooler is so pathetic and disgusting. How can you even defend that with a straight face. You and your FB group are so delusional.

First, how am I picking on her? She's an elected official with authority over a huge budget and hugely influential policies. Her comments cannot be immune to criticism.

And for the record, her comments were ridiculous and indicative of the problem the school system faces. I have never once made fun of her name, or her heritage.

But I will say her comments were problematic and indicative of poor decision making.

That's not picking on her. That speaking truth to power

Nah…. Group outed themselves at the BoE meeting by booing in public for pro-mask parents. Who are the bullies again? Reprehensible group of people.

You know its a group of over 2,000 members.

And do you also know that some of the people that were there testifying against the mandate aren't even in the group?

Of course you don't know that. Because you would rather spew verbal diarrhea than actually sound like informed person

I don't even know why I'm arguing with you. You've been wrong about just about everything.

But you need a villian. It's easier for you have this big bad villian than accept the fact that you may have been wrong, or that you simply cannot control the behaviors of other people

Not the PP. No one said it’s everyone in the group. It’s the same people who show up at every board meeting. It’s the ones who insist on testifying over and over, taking spots from other people, without saying anything different or offering new insight. As a county, we are all sick of them. No one said they testified today. I do see their faces in the audience as I’m there. Have fun defending a sinking ship of adult infants.

Yeah. I'm with you.

And FWIW, I'm in that group. And the thread on FB in that group is chastising them for their bad behavior.

But the PP seems to be suggesting that this some coordinated attack by the group. It's not. Its just a couple of jerks yelling.

No one wants to control anyone. I don’t care what people choose to do. I care about a group of adult bullies attempting to run policy in this county. If you had a brain, you’d be concerned too, but I’m sure you’re just a brainwashed minion. Not shocking.

I'm in the group too but after what I saw today, I'm out. They've become more and more toxic and as time has worn on, they've become exactly like the people they claimed to despise when the group first started. They are just not my people and I don't want my name associated with them. I wish there was a group that was more of a middle ground - this is not it.

You’re not entirely wrong, but good luck finding any group where everyone is well-behaved. Did PAGES dissolve after one of the admins encouraged people to submit false positive covid test results to MCPS?

All these groups seem to get the extremest on each end. It would be nice to have a regular group of reasonable people.
