m +1. Think of all the amazing people the PPs are willing to cast aside, like every single person who chose a service profession over a high income. It’s sad. |
I’m married. But the majority of the single guys I meet in dc area either through work or through friends (even at local gym) make 200+. Not hard. |
Do you realize most federal attorneys make about 160k? An artist is not going to make 160K. My sister in law is a Harvard PhD scientist and does not make 100k. Get a reality check on salaries. |
Ummm….not really. |
Or they should have got a check on their majors if they care about making >200k. Just sayin. |
I married a man who may never make $100K because he decided to work in a service profession after college. That’s okay with me. I value his honesty, intellect, and compassion more than what’s in his wallet and what it can buy me. |

When I met DH in my early 20s I had no salary requirement but I wouldn’t have dated anyone without career and life goals they were actively working towards.
If I was dating now in my early 30s I would only date men with established careers who were responsible with money and successfully supporting themselves (like I am). It’s unlikely I would seriously date anyone making under 75k but possible depending on extenuating circumstances. |
-1. Income and income potential is important in choosing a life partner unless you are able to support your spouse and children on your income, alone. It’s entirely fair for someone to have a standard. |
“It’s entirely fair”: what does that even mean? And can you make your standards work, or are you holding out for a unicorn? |
Ask stupid questions, get stupid responses. |
No one in DC knows what you are talking about. That or thank goodness those that do aren’t in dcum. Great auto-filter! |
Basically she's saying she will only date a wealthy man. |
Most federal scientists make GS-14 which is ~$160. |
Only dates successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, Pe partners or hedge fund partners. They’re here in DC. Not like NyC or Palm Beach or Bay Area but they are. |
