And all the Gilmore Girl actors are distracting. Poor Emily Gilmore - she looks like death!

She is nearly 80 you @$$hole. Let's see how you look at that age.

I love the actor who plays Lenny Bruce. That swagger….

The ending was so unsatisfying.

Which character are you talking about? I loved The Magicians.

Quentin! He’s married to Midge irl and plays the guy from Veep’s booker.

Oh that's some good trivia - I had no idea!

It's horrible. I hope this is the last.

Trying way to hard with clever banter between characters. Storyline is just too all over the place and unbelievable.

I can't get into it, which is a shame as the first season was remarkable. The second less so but tolerable. And then this . . .

A character arc I'm seeing in Midge is that she is constantly biting the hand that feeds her. She loved Joel but then she hated him (and loved him a little) but making fun of him is what started her career in comedy. Susie was trying to help her by giving her advice that had worked for her and Midge completely trashed her in a comedy routine, even though she was supposed to be auditioning with a whole different routine. Then, misunderstanding the situation, she also completely blew up her friend and benefactor Shy Baldwin in another routine because she felt insecure and afraid and just wanted to kill at comedy.

I can see this could be a problem for comedians - what areas are too sacred to make fun of in your life? Where is the line and will she ever find it? Is she going to blow up Lenny Bruce who she's falling in love with and is also trying to help her? Susie? Season after season this happens to her and maybe she was trying to get away from it by not being an opening act and not owing anyone anything. But now she will owe Lenny alot for teaching her this lesson, is she going to kill him with her comedy too?

"Susie was trying to help her" -- I didn't mean Susie here, I meant Sophie, whoops sorry.

She turned down $12k to keep a secret she was already keeping, while in tremendous debt and little income with an entire family to support. What an asshole move.

Midge and Lenny Bruce--I had been waiting for this to happen and poof there was zero chemistry between the two of them. I don't know the whole thing just didn't seem to be right. I like them better as friends. Damn he is hot--not the real Lenny Bruce. This guy doesn't look anything like him but Luke Kirby is so cute.

I don't agree at all! Luke Kirby is so fantastic, he's got enough chemistry for both of them. When they were sitting in his hotel room, and he was looking at her with that grin? That was damn sexy. It didn't even matter what Rachel Brosnahan did (but what she did was fine).

And their scene at Carnegie Hall was terrific, too.

Anonymous wrote:It was not a good season. The plot felt all over the place yet completely stagnant. No loose ends tied up- midge doesn’t know that Susie lost her money and Joel covered for her, there was no follow up on midge and Joel getting remarried in Vegas (are they divorced again? does mei know? Not know?) no mention of Joel managing midges money like Susie asked him to at the end of season 3, among other things. No follow up on how Midge and Joel feel about each other (they exchange lingering looks when she buys back the apartment, he calls her his wife when defending her to Susie). Instead, a million new storylines and characters were introduced while doing fan fiction to all the previous characters, like shy Baldwin and sophie Lennon (what is sophie even doing on the show at this point- though Jane lynch is hilarious - the character does nothing to advance the plot. We dig into Susie’s sexuality for five seconds, only to turn right back around, and the list goes on.

While the writing is still quirky and witty, this season was all over the place.

I think the Joel/Midge plotline has been very clearly wrapped up. As has been said by both Midge and Joel, but also by Suzy when she asked Joel to hello her manage Midge's money-- they are always going to love each other, but they are never getting back together again.

FFS, Kelly Bishop is 78 years old. She doesn't look good enough for you?

This show is so overrated. I don't get it at all.

Marin Hinkle has been quite ill for some time-- she suffers from chronic nerve pain. She's much thinner now than she was before her illness.
