Yes, and her "jokingly" outing the gay guy last season was just so terrible.

This. We stopped watching halfway through season 3 and I hardly ever give up on shows. She is just such a desperate attention hog.

Rachel Brosnahan is really overrated. She did not deserve the Emmy or Golden Globes.

I find her character so grating that I can’t watch anymore. Although I don’t blame the actress - I think it actually reflects that she’s doing a great job.

Really? It was so dumb. Really, really dumb.

Maybe I just missed the characters and liked seeing them interact

Agree--the magic that was Season 1 has somehow diminished with each season and now it's dull. Even Suzie is getting on my nerves now. I do still love the styling and the outfits. Otherwise, it's kind of meh now. Too bad was really looking forward to the return of this season.

I really wish they would do a recap of the previous season when they bring back shows after such a long hiatus. I was so lost trying to watch the first episode of the new season and then I just fell asleep.

So... exactly two episodes are available but you're already dismissing it? Not going to let it build? I had to let the first season grow on me but am glad I stuck with it.

And for the poster saying Midge is an "attention hog" -- why, yes. She always has been; that's not new in these two episodes suddenly. It was apparent in the very first episode of season one, when they flashed back to her wedding to Joel. A huge point of the character and her comedy career is....attention hogging and what it does to your life. If that puts you off, I'm amazed if you made it past season one. You don't have to love or even like a a main character to find a story interesting.

It isn't as if you're more cultured or in the know than the rest of us. Yes, you can judge a series a few episodes in and here are some of the many examples:
- The dialogue is pretty bad. The things the ex husband says are so unrealistic. Same with Mrs. Maisel. Why would the husband's girlfriend not say outright who the landlords are if they aren't her parents? The lines from the ex husband's secretary...bad. The lines with Susie talking about Harry Drake's former wives and girlfriends - bad, added nothing, etc. Every standup routine by Maisel is not funny. The dialogue/monologue in the prison was dumb.

- The story lines are bad (Sophie Lennon's, the feeble attempt to make it look like they wouldn't get the insurance check with the doors with no handles, the storyline of Susie's sister sleeping with the insurance guy, etc.)

- The overacting is bad (the scene where she kept asking for extended credit - okay, we got it - ridiculous)

- Characters which were previously fun to watch are no longer fun to watch.

- Some things don't make sense (the ex husband's girlfriend sleeping at his place, the ex husband's mom setting him up with an about to give birth pregnant women, Mrs. Maisel's dad saying he must have glossed over his pay (so he is let go from his job, he is living with his wife's former in laws...and the exact income amount isn't important?), the reappearance of the Maisel maid (with no explanation, and no one having any money to pay her...), the stupid scene of the bedroom furniture being askew...so dumb, etc.)

- The ex husband's girlfriend is a terrible actress.

So my personal opinion is that I don't think it is going downhill because she's not a likeable character anymore. She was always extremely selfish - she left her kids at a time when that was unheard of. I don't like it because it is not good anymore. I'll likely finish it, as i did with Sex in the City...but not happily.

If you disagree, I'd love you to prove the points above wrong!

I think the best actress right now is Susie's sister, but her storyline was stupid.

I think people were giving her pity points for her aunt Kate Spade's untimely death.

I like the scene too

I'm done with it. Grating and same old, same old.

I don't think anything has changed except that the novelty has warn off.

I enjoy while watching, but I'm not invested in any of the characters. I never have been. I spend the episode admiring the stylish sets and wardrobe, theatre-esque staging, and snappy dialogue, but I don't feel anything. When it's over, I forget about it.

And to add--

This is in contrast to Gilmore Girls, where Daniel and Amy Sherman Palladian created a show with those same characteristics but you also cared about the characters (even the--many-- annoying ones).

Oh my gosh it’s the exact opposite for me. I am much more invested in the maisel characters, and really disliked the characters in Gilmore girls. They were annoyingly perfect and arrogant. But maybe I just relate more to maisel because I’m Jewish and feel represented. The humor is spot on.

Will also add that I found every secondary character in Gilmore girls annoying. I think I only liked Emily, and maybe dean. The rest of the people in stars hollow were incredibly annoying, one dimensional and seemed like they were on happy pills or some other drugged out existence.
