Karl Frisch and the Stupidity of Dunn Loring ES

Does this guy have children in FCPS? Has he said anything about addressing pandemic learning loss? Special education? Getting rid of AAP? I hear that's a major Republican talking point.

I see a lot of denunciations of Hamas terrorism on Sabio’s Twitter account recently. That strikes me as anything but crazy. Frisch has pictures of his dog and a near-constant stream of posts about LBGTQ issues on his account.

Here’s an interview with Sabio: https://patch.com/virginia/fairfaxcity/tony-sabio-running-providence-district-school-board-race-profile

He’s further to the right than I’d like on some issues, but he hasn’t squandered over $60M in taxpayer funds like Frisch on a completely unnecessary school that no one asked for, so he’d be an improvement.

Sabio seems more centrist and reasonable overall. I also admire he willingly chose to become a foster-parent.

He definitely has my vote over Frisch, who only seems to be a political hack and only in this for his own political career ambitions.

Sabio was at my back to school night arguing with parents about guns. Not the guy I want representing us on the board

1. I never been disrespectful on Twitter and really took the nasty remarks towards me with Grace.

2. I never called out schools as “war zone” and never said I am going to push guns in school. Reality is I want to institute technology coupled with a proper Emergency Response Plan to mitigate and delay so Law Enforcement can deal with threats on the outside of schools. Also I want to stop the increase on sex trafficking and sex crimes… I work on that currently in the private sector.

3. The school board doesn’t need more activist and educators… we need leaders that can manage a budget (meaning seeing where all the money is going), reallocate the current funding based on the priorities (priorities based on community wants and needs), ensure the safety of all children/staff/teachers at our schools… just to name a few.

4. Emphasis mental health issues by adding more support to teachers and parents. We have a great program in the Foster Care system that I went through to adopt my son… I want to expand that service to help all parents because raising children is a hard task.

5. Increase mentorship programs in FFX such as Big Brother/Big Sister so we can help our children as a loving community. My son was in the system for 9 years and adopting him was a blessing and a honor. If we want to help our kids we have to step up with more than words.

6. I will increase trade and vocational schools as a career path upon graduation. Also develop job placement from the trade/vocational schooling so kids that don’t have any to go to college have an opportunity to have a good paying job when they graduate. I have already networked with local businesses.

Those are some examples of what I bring… in the private sector as a consultant, high net-worth people and corporations hire me to evaluate and provide solutions to their issues. That goes from security issues to business management to leadership mentorship to P&L vs ROI assessments.

These are real skills that I bring from my broad experience from the military, the Secret Service, the CIA, and private sector. I would put my body of work against anyone on the school board any day.

Respectfully
Tony Sabio

Wow! Very thoughtful letter. Thank you for sharing.

So you’d rather have a guy who has wasted more taxpayer money than any other school board member in recent FCPS history on a totally unnecessary school that will end up disrupting much of the GCM pyramid?

I don't mind. Republicans are the greatest evil to face this country and they need to be exposed at every turn. Starting from the local level.

You want a one-party system. That’s a terrible prospect, including at the local level.

I’d rather have a non nut job. Tony was yelling at parents at my back to school night about guns. He’s crazy right wing

A one-party system would mean there’s no choice on the ballot. There are choices! It just happens that the Republican choices are always extreme and that’s why they don’t win.

They really aren’t. But there’s a well-oiled money machine up here to convince people to vote for lame D candidates like Karl Frisch, who couldn’t be more of a putz.

I just don't think the Dunn Loring school is as much of a political issue as you think it is. People can deal with rezoning, they don't want to deal with someone who is going to limit our children's rights.

It’s a giant waste of money. It will also gut Stenwood and, to a lesser extent, Freedom Hill. If it’s not an issue now, it’s because they haven’t physically torn down the old Dunn Loring building yet and many people don’t know what’s coming. Just wait. It will be such a sh*t show, courtesy of one of the biggest idiots ever to serve on a local school board.

Building a new school to address overcrowding is a good thing.

It is.

Unfortunately, Frisch is getting a new school built that’s surrounded by schools that are well under capacity. The growth is elsewhere. It’s a huge waste of money.

This. Shrevewood overcrowding could have been fixed with a simple boundary adjustment to Stenwood and Freedom Hill.

in the next few weeks you’ll hear the same people say the exact same three things to attack Karl Frisch, rather than focusing on anything positive about Tony Sabio or giving us actual reasons to vote for him.
