Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)
Its funny that people who seem to hate everything about FCPS still revolve their lives around getting their kids into one of its schools |
How many non-STEM kids go there? |
What does slavery have to do with opportunity hoarding? |
You don't own FCPS and we decide where we want to live, not you. We're the people who can change FCPS and the entire state of Virginia into less evil (you've already seen what happened in Nov elections). |
Merit based and hard working is NOT opportunity hoarding. White liberals use past oppressions of minorities to promote their evil agenda, which is to further boost white interest. TJ reform is a perfect example. |
Good for you. Never thought I'd hear Republicans winning statewide as a move away from racism, but ok. Maybe the FCPS board will look at the results and double down, personally I'm hoping for an open admission academy. |
You kidding. It is the liberals who proposed and support the Affirmative Action that SYSTEMATICALLY discriminate Asians. |
So a school that has a class that's 54% Asian in a county where Asian's make up 20% of the population is racist for not having enough Asians? |
That's right. The same logic applies to NBA is 90% black players while they make up 10% of population. And white people should step down from their CEO positions because it's way over the the population quota. See how dumbass your liberals are? |
You are comparing two private industries two a public school. Did you think you had something here? |
That would be so much better. However, the far left SB allowed its view to be shaped by members of the TJ AAG, who just want a "woke" version of a magnet STEM school so it's still something they can find ways to boast about constantly without feeling embarrassed that their alma mater has so few Black and Hispanic kids. From their perspective, it's far better to be able to point to more minority kids at TJHSST than for FCPS to actually have a program that is open to far more students. Here, as in so many areas, FCPS policy is a mess. |
Even the private industries are merit based. Don’t you think public programs should be less racist than those? |
TJ reform opens access to hardworking, qualified students from all over the county. We now have better representation from ALL middle schools. Not just the feeders. And we also have a class that looks more like the population of the county. Who benefited most from these changes? Hardworking, qualified kids who are from economically-disadvantaged families. And hardworking, qualified kids who are URMs. |
How many of those Hispanic kids are UMC white Europeans of Spanish descent? Absurd that the Hispanic category is used as a backdoor to benefit many white Europeans. |
That's absolutely false! It actually closed doors for those who are most talented in STEM, which should have been the mission TJ education. This is like NBA draft will be purely based on the assessment of playing among the middle schoolers, not in the highest level of games. |
