Metropolitan DC Local Politics
I’m not voting for him to be my friend, I’m voting for him to be governor. |
There are very few politicians who are 100% genuine, as they are constantly adjusting their messages for different audiences. McAuliffe, however, manages to be among those who are 100% fake. No one can listen to him in any setting and come away with the impression that he believes a single word that comes out of his mouth. If you support him, it’s only because you’re voting against another candidate, because it’s just so obvious that McAuliffe does not care about anyone other than himself. |
"Imploding schools?" Whatever are you prattling on about? You do know that schools are only cited by 7% of the electorate as a top issue, right? The schools are just fine. Among the best in the nation. But, you know, don't take my word for it. Take the teachers' unions. They endorsed McAuliffe. They see right through Youngkin's bizarre doublespeak. |
I don't know where you are getting that 7% number. Almost every poll I have read regarding the top issues for voters this election has 1) economy 2) education 3) healthcare. This is per Newsweek as of yesterday and consistent across the board - "Forty percent of Virginia voters surveyed said the economy or jobs was the most important issue impacting the governor's race while 23 percent said education and 17 percent said health care, according to the poll." Further, it shows Youngkin with two digit leads in the polls for the first two issues, with T-Mac in the lead on the third. This poll has it in 1st place over jobs, COVID, and healthcare. https://www.wfxrtv.com/news/your-local-election-hq/poll-education-is-the-most-important-issues-facing-virginia/ Seriously, you are citing the teachers' union support McA as a sign of anything. Joe Dirt could be the dem candidate, and the teachers' union would support him. |
It was a dropped number. I meant 37%. Youngkin boast he will raise teacher pay ... and they still won't endorse him. That says it all. Virginia education is not in any way, shape or form "imploding." What ridiculous hyperbole. Republicans can't be trusted with public education. Mr. Private Equity didn't even send his kids to public schools. Neither did McAuliffe, I realize. But this Youngkin soundbite that he thinks parents should tell schools what to teach is beyond ridiculous. Everyone sees through it. |
That’s the rallying cry folks — “just fine.” |
Which should tell you something about how deeply public educators distrust Republicans on public education matters. It’s not surprising when you look at the issues they run on (e.g., school choice) and what they do when they’re in power (e.g., stripping public education funding). |
| Lol, it’s not trust, it’s fear. The unions know that republicans would hold the teachers accountable for their performance, not just rubber stamp union demands for less work, more money, no metrics and lifetime employment. |
BS. The GOP isn’t remotely familiar with the concept of “holding people accountable”. |
Yes, the republicans hold the record for encouraging criminal behavior and do anything to win, even if it means organizing a violent coup against our country. TERRORISTS. TRAITORS. |
+1 |
Right, an absolute idiot who rose to the success he did despite the fact that anyone who knows him, including the people he worked for, knowing exactly that. What have you ever done? |
|
This woman is horrible. She also isn't just a mom. She has worked for the republicans forever just like the Fairfax mom in the "mah baby got exposed to a book that hurt him" video. |
She looks and sounds unhinged. |
