DH and I both smoked pot in college and into our twenties - haven't since the kids were born. Youngest is now a senior in high school, and once he leaves we are eager to enjoy the occasional high.
My assumption is that my kids have gotten high, but they are not constant users. I don't have a problem with that, but I don't want to condone pot use - so for us, it will be part of our empty nester lifestyle once the kids leave. |
Caffeine. Ibuprofen? What prescriptions are you taking? Just wondering- |

DH occasionally (1x/2mo?) does a gummy, usually if a friend has some to spare and we’re together. It would be more if we lived in a state where it was legal (Texas). We recently went to the PNW with friends and about 3-4ppl smoked every night. Frankly they said they felt fantastic — didn’t drink as much and slept very well.
I use alcohol but have never used weed, neither smoked nor taken edibles. I have nothing against it and hope to try it soon but I was a teetotaler in HS and then worked in government/government adjacent jobs where they tested people randomly. I have started using CBD and I sleep so, so well when I take them. |

No, but I kinda wish we did! |
| I do not enjoy smoking due to the smell, not as discreet and takes too much work to get up to it. We do edibles about twice a month. A lot more discreet, no lingering smells and you just eat it, nothing more to it. It is much more preferred than drinking, to me, because even if you over do it, not much of a hangover effect. You are also more alert being high than drunk. |
| No, but maybe when we are retired. We have security clearances to stop us for now. |
| Nope. Security clearance. |

Me - no to the edibles/smoking. I've cut my drinking back to about 1-3 times a month.
Him - no to the edibles/smoking. He drinks 1-2 drinks about 5x/week. I don't have any objections to smoking/edibles, though. Might try edibles in the future. |

I don't. I probably only drink a handful of times a year (I really enjoy getting drunk, but at my age the hangovers aren't worth it)
My husband has some friends he gets high with, which started a few years ago, but he doesn't see them often and they're not mutual friends. |
| Edibles every weekend. Both of us. No regrets. We drink less, no hangovers and the sex is fantastic. |
| I quit drinking for the most part and now only smoke maybe once a week at the most. I don't get high - just the equivalent of a couple glasses of wine. DH can't due to job requirements. |
| H does daily. I’m not a fan. Says it’s to help with depression and to give him motivation to do basic daily responsibilities, but from what I can see, it makes both worse. Also not a fan of the idea of needing weed to just get through daily life. |
| I used to drink wine every night and wanted to quit because of the hangovers. So now I do a little edible a few times a week in the evening and love it and I have no hangovers. Feel great. I also prefer DH when he does an edible to drinking. |
| We do once in a while |
| Only drug I have ever consumed is alcohol. Otherwise, nothing stronger than painkillers after Caesareans, not even a cigarette. When I turn 65, I will begin to experiment with psychotropic and other substances. |
