Why are Communist memes acceptable, while Nazi symbols (rightfully) get you canceled

No, Nazi symbols should not be accepted - but neither should Communist paraphernalia, because Communism led to genocides and mass murder. And Che Guevara was a terrorist. Why has nobody in Montgomery County called to complain and remove the Che Guevara graffiti from Silver Spring? This is extremely offensive to Cuban Americans and victims of Communism.

I'm sorry, did I miss the world war that Che Guevara pulled us into?

Che Guevara Thanks the United States for the Bay of Pigs Invasion
https://unredacted.com/2012/02/03/document-friday-che-guevara-thanks-the-united-states-for-the-bay-of-pigs-invasion/

At 2:00 AM on 22 August 1961 White House aid Dick Goodwin met with Che Guevara at cocktail party after the Inter-American Economic and Social Council conference in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Che wore his “green fatigues, and his usual overgrown and scraggly beard.” Guevara spoke “calmly and in a straightforward manner,” and the discussion ranged from the possibility of a modus vivendi between Cuba and the US; to the need for the Kennedy administration to understand the Cuban Revolution; to an analysis of Fidel Castro’s psyche; to the the Cuban economic policy on its island and throughout Latin America; to Guantanamo Bay; and even about various plane thefts.

... Then, as their conversation wound down, Guevara “went on to say that he wanted to thank us [the United States] very much for the invasion –that it had been a great political victory for them– enabled them to consolidate — and transformed them from an aggrieved little country to an equal.”

Bay of Pigs invasion just doesn't compare to WW2 and the Holocaust. At all.

Che is a bad example. Mao gets tons of run with the left and as a first class enemy of humanity on par with Hitler. All of them should be in the dust bin of history.

Hey, look at this dumb dumb making excuses for 100M deaths due to the leftist ideology of communism. But it was OK, because apparently we weren't at war with China or Russia....(which is patently false given the history of the the Korean and Vietnam Wars).

Keep tattooing your nasty self with imagery like the hammer and sickle. How's it feel to support a murderous regime?

Che Guevara is pretty in-your-face.

If I can, I always ask people wearing Che T shirts why the have a picture of “Hispanic Hitler” on their chest. Most are angry at being called out on it, which tells me they’re aware of his history rather than simply ignorant about it.

You are full of it with that analogy. Che Guevara was radicalized by the CIA overthrowing reform governments and installing fascist regimes at the request of U.S. corporations. He was a revolutionary, not at all comparable to Hitler.

You should be ashamed of yourself for even posting this.

Hmm I didn’t know much about him. But doing some research, I can’t see how the OP calls him a terrorist. And it sounds like Batista as the one guilty of war crimes. Can someone point me to evidence that Guevara was executing innocent people?

Well we firebombed every city in North Korea and killed 1.5 million civilians. Does that count?

As someone whose great grandfather was murdered in a concentration camp, there's a difference. The Nazi party ran on a platform of racial supremacy and institutionalized the murder of millions in the name of racial purity.

Communism too killed millions of peasants and dissenters but it wasn't in the name of "kill the poor" or "kill the opposition." Yes that occurred and was horrific but it wasn't the primary goal of communism, whereas the primary goal of Nazism was to eradicate Jews, Slavs, Gypsies, gays, etc.

That said, I think it's ridiculous how some hipsters idolize Che and the like.

What in the hell are you talking about? Have you ever opened up a history book? The Russians killed scores of Mongolians to kill the opposition. The Russians absolutely targeted ethnic minorities such as the Kazakhs and the Buryats. The Russians killed educated people. The chinese are literally executing people and putting them in concentration camps as we speak because of their religion. The chinese also have banned muslim clothing, music and culture. The Khmer Rouge executed ethnic Vietnamese, ethnic Thai, ethnic Chinese, ethnic Cham, Cambodian Christians, and the Buddhist monks who were the demographic targets of persecution.

Truly shocking people are this oblivious and stupid to the atrocities committed by leftist ideology like communism that absolutely without question killed millions of people due to their ethnicity, religion, and minority status.

For someone who reads history book, you're too obvious with your dumb mistake conflating Russians and Soviets.

The Soviets were perfectly fine with ethnic minorities that toed the communist ideology line. Neither Stalin nor Lenin were ethnic Russians.

The Soviets also opened education avenues for people for whom they were traditionally closed. You need educated people to run the country so don't talk nonsense about killing educated people.

I mean I guess you can make an argument that the Americans never prosecuted anyone on account of their religion or ethnicity, yet somehow, mysteriously, without ever meaning to, millions of people ended up dead in countries that America invaded or sanctioned.

The trouble with people like you is that you think crimes committed by the regime you favor are all right, but the crimes committed by the regime you don't like are like oooh, let's not do that.
