Actually that’s not exactly true. I literally had to help my contractor along with so many projects I want it done that he just cannot figure out on his own. I’m talking about ceiling designs cutting out new windows, closing up windows and so many many other designs I came up with. It wasn’t just simply tiling the floors. I literally could help build a home after all the things I had to research on my own.

I even had to figure out how to install the 12 foot high marble fireplace mantle I had made. I told him he’s just gonna have to cut a hole in the ceiling and use pulleys tied to the roof beams to lift it up into position.

Rich person brag.

It would be in very poor taste. I don’t know why we’ve arrived at a place where people just like to brag about how much money they have and what nice things people have.

And really, how many more gutted historic homes do we need to see that are all white and grey with pops of one color per room?

I am always interested in people’s photos of their renovations and I view posting them to FB as insecure behavior.

I'd put it as a facebook story instead of a post if it bothers you.

Good ideal! Thank you . It took me 18 months and thousands of hours of design ideas to achieve my dream home. It just sucks that I can’t post the before and afters because I’m afraid of the being too obnoxious. When people post their middle upper class homes everyone loves it but when it’s a 7 figure renovation people hate you ..

Not directly, but I'd probably humblebrag by posting a photo of my pet or family member in the room that was redone on Instagram and make it about the subject of the photo. Not that I'm proud of the behavior, just realistically what I'd do

I would only post if it’s DIY on my FB. If you were a part of groups or sites where people share ideas of home improvements that’s a great place to post the pictures of a remodel - it’s not bragging if the purpose is to share info/ideas on that topic.

You can also do the subtle peep in one of your FB photos where one of the remodeled rooms is a backdrop for a photo of the pets or kids etc. and follow up if anyone asks you about it.

7 figure renovation? Were you renovating a castle? Why not just buy a new house at that point?

This makes no sense. For a million dollar plus renovation you should have had design and other folks helping. What did you do, cheap out and hire they work for the day locals at HD?

Impressive is when you design and actually physically do the work yourself. We have installed our own doors, windows, redid our hardwood, redid our kitchen, redoing our basement, electrical, plumbing, etc.

Omg that post, PP sounds gaudy as hell with her marbled fountains and fireplaces. Well sourced from China. I can’t.

I’m curious to see this 7 figure renovation now done without an architect and designer.
