Georgia Senate voting to end absentee balloting

This basically forces Democrats to remove the filibuster in the Senate. This will need to pass the “For the People” voting rights legislation with less than 60 votes.

It is what it is.

This is exactly how it was in VA for years.
It is one of the ways to reduce voter turnout.

Also, more Democrat states should just move to mail-only voting. Get rid of the voting booths - massive waste of money and resources

Funny, GA ballots were recounted multiple times, and those recounts showed that the original count was valid.

IOW, there was nothing nefarious in Georgia.

Then GA should also make voting day a day off so people can go vote. But, they won't because then poor people might vote more.

GOP Governor.
GOP Sec State.

Both were emphatic throughout the 2020 cycle as to the integrity of their systems and process and the overall results.

And yet, somehow...

When you get to pick your voters, yes, that’s cheating. Anti-democratic cheating.

I’ll say it again, for the thick souls who only pretend they like democracy: when you get to pick your voters, that’s cheating.

+1. Voter suppression clear as day. We want to make it harder for people who want to vote for the other guy.

This will go to SCOTUS and be overturned.

Actually, any attempt to make voting harder is more likely to hurt the party that relies on lower-income, younger voters who are also likelier to have hourly jobs. Undoubtedly, some white Republicans will also be hurt by this, but on balance the Republican party will come out ahead.

I think this distinction is important, because saying that they are "picking their voters" puts the bar higher on proving harm. They are making it harder to vote. Why should any American be okay with this?

...they didn’t like the outcome.

Someone needs to explain why you think it’s necessary to “restrict absentee voting,” or why one would need to “actually qualify” for it, at all.

What about people with disabilities? How will they get around the ADA?

I personally think it's awesome they are going to prevent old white people from voting if they don't have enough strength to stand in lines for a day at the polls. Which you don't, if you spend all your time watching Fox news all day. ~fellow white person

LOL. What part of GOP vote rigging seems like they care about people or stupid little things like laws?
