We want to make it harder for people who want to vote for the other guy.[/quote] Actually, any attempt to make voting harder is more likely to hurt the party that relies on lower-income, younger voters who are also likelier to have hourly jobs. Undoubtedly, some white Republicans will also be hurt by this, but on balance the Republican party will come out ahead. I think this distinction is important, because saying that they are "picking their voters" puts the bar higher on proving harm. They are making it harder to vote. Why should any American be okay with this?[/quote]
