We did something like this (not pink) for $225 including shipping. It's actually very nice. My kid is 6, so she's easy to please.

| My kids are using our old dining room table and we got them office chairs that raise and lower, are on wheels, spin around, etc. My yds is older than your kids though. You can get them adjustable height chairs and use something as a foot rest if their feet don't reach the floor though. |
Adding, they are both on their computers and have big monitors so being on a full dining room table works and gives them enough space to spread out. |

I've just ordered this one from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K3EY9G4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've also found options on Wayfair, and Overstock. And - check Facebook Marketplace. I am amazed at how many good options people have for cheap. And finally, Ikea does have some really reasonable options. |

If you can scrub & paint you can find something at Value Village, ReHab store
Better made thsn wayfair & ikea |
FYI wayfair is sort of like amazon, they have all different quality levels and prices and vendors they use. It is really important to read the listings carefully and read the reviews because there are many different companies selling through wayfair. |
This desk is a knock off of the Vivo desk we bought for about $150 - there are dozens of versions of this desk on Amazon and Wayfair for anywhere between $100-$200. It's a great desk - really sturdy, and super adjustable. It's not pretty, but personally I prefer form (and ergonomics) over function. |
| Build something. Concrete blocks. Plywood. |
| We put some brackets in the wall at the end of the hallway and stained a piece of wood for the top. We used two legs from ikea for the front legs. When this is done we’ll take it down. I wanted few distractions but still in a public space. |
| There are some unfinished furniture stores in the area-- one in Rockville that I know of. They might have what you're looking for. |
That's exactly what I bought for my kid. This was the year she was going to move from a table to a desk of her own at school, and she was looking forward to it. Now she has one and is perfectly content. |
OP here. Funny, seeing this desk over and over in my search is what’s leaving me so frustrated. I want something that is simple and well made, not a plastic Disney version of something. Different strokes and all that, but this isn’t for me. I might go with that play table C&B has, but that’s also not ideal. I think my taste is too high for my means, lol. These are my picks that I either can’t get or can’t afford: https://www.huelsta.com/en/product/kinderschreibtisch-minimo/ This thing ships in 6-8 weeks: https://sprout-kids.com/products/wooden-kids-table-and-chairs-pkt2c001 Can’t get this in America: https://en.smallable.com/kids-desk-white-in2wood-127257.html Might get something like this and try to find a comfy chair: https://www.2modern.com/products/little-architect-table Truly, America is devoid of any good and simple design. Good, quality items shouldn’t be out of reach for common people. Ugh. |
| Just get a 30” desk and a taller chair, or a booster or something. |
They're not out of reach, you're just a late actor in the world where everyone needs a desk. |
