Crescent Trail Mask Headcount

We are rarely leaving the house and only shopping once a week and carry out 1-2 times a week. We are as careful as anyone but you are absurd.

Can I ask how you are doing emotionally? I only leave the house once or twice a week for groceries and supplies and feel so depressed. Like I'm going to lose my mind.

I know this will continue until we have a vaccine but I question what kind of life this is.

WEAR YOUR MASK WITHIN 6 FEET OF PEOPLE.

This means you should always take your mask with you when you leave the house.

You should wear them if the area is so crowded that people get within 6 feet of you repeatedly. But don't constantly whip your mask on and off, because that's also a contamination risk. You need to look around and use good judgement.

Nope. I don't wear masks outdoors.

If someone approaches me on say, a narrow trail, I pop several feet over to give them space to pass. If the area is crowded with people, I turn around and go home, or to a less crowded spot to run/hike/exercise.

I am not wearing my mask out when I am exercising. That’s ridiculous.

If this virus is so virulent that we can contract it outside in the sun on a hot, humid day while maintaining normal social distance that is common in American culture then we are all going to contract it wether we have a tiny piece of cotton over our nose and mouth or not.

I run on the W & OD trail in VA 5 days/week. I would guesstimate that about 25% of the people on the trail wear masks. I wear a mask 100% of the time indoors, 0% outdoors.

I do wear one when I go into any building. And, while I haven't been on a crowded sidewalk since the pandemic started, I would wear one there too.

You'd be wrong and stating you haven't been on a crowded sidewalk only affirms your ignorance.

Is it hard sleeping with it? What about when eating inside?

This. No way I wearing a mask while on the trail.
Same with stores. As soon as I walk outside the mask comes off.

Apparently, when a mask gets wet, it loses its effectiveness. So, I'd wear it for about 4 minutes, and then it would be useless. So, no, I won't be wearing a mask while running. If you are on the Capital Crescent Trail at 6:00 am, I will be one of the maskless runners.

And what are you going to do about it when I don’t?

Write you off as a Trump-loving moron.

Tuesday Count

13 masks on
101 total counted

This is down 5% from a week ago on the same day of the week and same time.
Anonymous
Thursday Morning Count

11 masks on
80 no masks
91 total
12%

Apparently, the people on the trail weren't watching today's news headlines blaring the 2nd wave is here.

Good. You don't need one outside. Covid is not transmitted in passing a person 1/10th of a second outdoors. People wearing them while driving, are fewer as well.

I've basically given up walking on area trails because it is often hard to be six feet apart and I'm uncomfortable with joggers huffing and puffing past me without a mask.

I don't like wearing masks, but I wear it when there are a lot of people and pull it down when no one is in sight. I find walking (I'm not a runner) on neighborhood sidewalks/streets far less crowded and have explored lots of new local neighborhoods this way, only pulling up my mask if I can't avoid walking 10 or more feet from passing someone.

This is not how Covid is spread. At some point, you're going to have to address your mental health issues. People are already not going off to the side on sidewalks, and getting ok with passing each other on a 3-4' sidewalk. I know I'm fine with it. Clearly transmission is not nearly that sensitive.
