Marylanders — Why aren’t you mad as hell at Governor Hogan?

I am a Democrat living in Takoma Park and think Hogan had been doing a good job. He was early to close schools and had been proactive in rescheduling the primary. He is clearly listening to experts and making decisions based on what he hears.

Agree. Not a Hogan fan generally, but he's doing a good job. The fact that we haven't been able to test is not on him.

Agree. Wouldn’t vote for him because I think the moderate label is a misnomer. But he has been good at this.

Another one in the “I didn’t vote for him but am generally pleased with the way he’s handled this” camp.

Signed a committed liberal democrat who wishes Hogan ran against Trump in the Republican primary.

Yes. Same. Still hate him on schools, but he’s right on public health.

I think he's doing an excellent job. He's being pro-active, making science-based interventions, and informing the public. He's also taking the responsibility of being a leader seriously. Gov. Hogan is the ONLY Republican I have ever seriously considered voting for.

+1 seriously. So much better than Trump.

I don’t like hogan for his self enriching beltway expansion plans—hugely negative impact on the environment and higher water bills.

The covid response was decent. I still don’t understand how he became governor in the first place, and I want him gone. But it’s not about covid.

Maryland has been testing more.

Please stop. Governor Hogan is doing a fantastic job managing a very real crisis with the information he has from experts. The numbers are going to sky rocket. The virus has been silently spreading for months across the United States. There were no tests in the state until recently. It will probably takes months before social distancing shows its effects.

This lifelong Democrat would vote for Hogan again, over the silly SS/TP types. Radical moderate here!!

He’s doing a lot but it doesn’t seem to helping much compared to other states, so I guess at least some of what he’s doing hasn’t been terribly effective.

Another hardcore Dem who thinks Hogan is doing a great job. Sorry if you're jealous that our governor is more competent than yours . . .

I'm a dyed in the wool Dem who can easily find fault with anything a Republican says or does but I think Hogan has done a great job and was very impressed by him in his interview on Morning Joe today.

Nice trolling try, OP. Maryland is happy with their governor.

While his leadership is admirable, restaurants and small businesses can’t sustain being closed long-term. Unfortunately, we can’t have it all ways. How much longer can this continue before most restaurants have fired most of the FOH staff, people can’t make their mortgages because their tenants can’t make their rent, etc? I mean these stopgap measures are okay until they aren’t and we can’t have it all ways. There are real consequences to his actions.
