Would you date a single mom?

Nope

No. Why would I want to play some other dude’s saved game?

I did for about a year and I really liked her but it was way too difficult to have a real relationship given her work and custody schedule which was very understandable. Instead of breaking up she suggested we just be FWB because she really liked sex so she would just call or text to see if I was around. She told me that she had a few single mom friends who envied her because none of them had time for anything more than that.

As a single mom that would work for me. I’d be very happy if once a week or so I could share a bottle of wine with a nice guy and have some adult conversation followed by an hour of intense sex. It might be a meaningless relationship but it’s all I really need.

This would work for married moms and dads too. Maybe it can be twice a week too.

I have - it's perfectly fine, especially if the father is in the picture - regularly scheduled free time.

WTF is it with all you guys saying never?

I’m a mom and I’ve never had any trouble finding men who were willing to commit. That being said, men without kids can be difficult because they don’t really understand what it’s like to have kids. What’s also kind of weird is a lot of childless men really want kids, and sometimes they view you as an insta-family. I dated one man who was very kind, but wanted us to all move in together and be one big happy family. Kinda weirded me out.

No. I'm not interested in having kids around, ex drama, etc.

It all depends on the men and the women and their personal options. I mean if a single mother was good enough for Antoine Arnault, the son of possibly the richest man on the planet, there is certainly one out there good enough for you!

My second husband dated and married me when I was a single mom of 2. This is a first marriage for him, no kids in prior relationships.

Yes. Totally fine to date a single mom as a 40 years old divorced Man with kids. In fact, I Only date single moms because they understand they are more patient with kids.

The issue is not being single a mom, is having more than one baby daddy, which requires too much coordination on weekends.

Being a single mom is a plus to me, vs someone with no kids. My two cents...

I'm older and, with few exceptions, have dated nothing but single moms. I didnt when I was younger.

Well yeah, if you are 50-something then a 30-something single mom looks pretty damn good compared to a single 50-something woman without kids, but I don't think that's what the single mom OP had in mind. She wants - and thinks she deserves - a tall hot young rich childless dude and she'd be all "ewww get lost old man" if you made a move on her.
