Not even close. Much less.

And it depends on if your club travels as a team or parents take them.

It depends on how you define "travel." Does it include flight, ground transport hotel, rental car and food? For just the player, or the player and a parent and possibly family members who make a trip out of it? If just the player, no it should not be that much. If team doesn't travel together and parents have to go as well, and you aren't staying at Motel 6, etc., don't have airline points, etc., it can definitely add up.

You have to also include costs of getting to and from practice and games which you drive to including gas costs unless you drive an electric car. It all adds up.

What are the roster size for these teams at u13? Do they roster out a full team( 2 goalies, etc) or do they pick players they see as having potential regardless of position?

Optimal roster sizes at U13 in general are around 15. Injuries are not as much a concern and in a full field transition year kids need lots of playing time. As kids get older roster sizes expand to 18 and beyond.

This is not really a DA or ECNL thing but a good way of handling U13.

If two keepers are available then a team will carry two. The transition to the big goal can be difficult for keepers until they hit their growth spurt.

Team travel for my DD, the travel costs include all travel for her less spending cash. Family can go, but NOT stay in the same hotel. The club passes on airline group info so family can fly together. This option is pricey as I don't think we get any super saver airfare or nice reasonably priced hotels and we pay for chaperones.

Although we do save on every parents airfare or driving along with meals for a trip.

It balances out fairly equal IMO, but I have not discreetly discerned the difference.

Beyond the regular season schedule... I know the DA teams travel north for games and ECNL goes south for games. I have heard there are "showcases" that teams do. Do both DA and ECNL go to these? Is this basically just a tournament re-named to sound fancy? I can't imagine at U13 there is recruiting going on of 6th and 7th graders. How many do the teams do a year? I've heard that DA does a "bunch more" but that was from an ECNL loving dad who was trying to convince us ECNL is the best way to go.

At U13 age ECNL actually does more showcases than DA.

Frankly it does not really make sense to do showcases that early.

At U13 both DA and ECNL have fall and spring schedules (The game schedules are available on the ECNL and DA websites.) At 15 and above Virginia ECNL teams only play in the Fall so as to not conflict with HS soccer schedules with the exception of showcases/championships. I realize it is hard to look that far ahead but the HS soccer factor will likely ultimately play into a lot of decisions. Look both at U13 and U18 schedules to get a sense of the difference. Realize that showcase games are often in addition to regular listed games. ECNL teams also play in non showcase/non ECNL tournaments. DA teams U14 and above do not.

While it is good to look at multiple options, I am curious why you are not considering current team as well for next year?

Rosters are and or soon will be available on DA/ECNL websites.

The best teams have 2 or more goalies rostered and have consistent goalie training. Being the only goalie on the team can be good for that goalie. Being the second goalie on a team where the first goalie plays the full game is not very fun.

If a team has a small roster and one of the starting players is injured or otherwise not available, someone else obviously is going to have to step up and fill their position.

Teams with two keepers either split the game or they find other games for both to get in full games. Keepers just need to play and to see shots. Being on a particular team may be good for the team but it isn't always great for the keepers development.

The price can certainly be pricey. Our U16 ECNL/DA price is significantly lower than $10k and includes the club dues. Our girls travel with the team (bus, plane, chaperones), and parents do not have to go on these trips. Clearly if a parent chooses to spend the money to make the trips then their costs go up significantly.

How significantly? Only a measly 5K? Big deal. It is pricey soccer for players with disposable income available. Oh well. That is soccer here and it is pay to play.
