Is it Rude to X-Out a Home on Redfin?

X-outs total is on the listing. Let's say you have an electric heat house, cess pool or high HOA fees hard enough to sell but folks tagging it with multiple X-outs suck for seller

It gets put on listing when you x-out right next to favorites

I agree

Every time the house we bid on was X'ed out I was a little more excited our offer would be accepted.

When we sold I didn't take it personally at all. Not everyone wants a 3 bedroom starter rambler. I know I was over it. I priced it to move, so I wasn't worried.

It gives the seller feedback. If you are getting visual traffic, but not saves, you may want to rethink price or staging.

Many people favorite any house they want updates on, regardless of whether they're in the market (I do this too) so I don't put much weight in that or the hot home designation, but taking the time to x it out reflects a more serious shopper. I can see why a buyer might find it useful to know that several people aren't interested.

As lots of people said, though, it doesn't mean the house stinks. It means it's not for me.

But as seller we would have no clue why they x-out the house. Too small, or overpriced, bad color, busy street.

When I sold my house only negative I could not fix it was it was a split, smaller driveway, only three bedrooms. So an X for that is what it is. But if folks X-out for fixable things I would like to know. But I dont. It serves not much purpose for seller as just throws "shade" on my house.

So? Redfin is as much (or more) for buyers as for sellers.

But if you think it's shade you should also be insulted by everyone who doesn't offer on your house, because it means the exact same thing.

But what is point of favoring home?. I mean if it is a great home and I am interested why would I tag that so other folks get interested.

Maybe it makes sense to X-Out homes you like so less competition.

OP, you're taking this too personally. I X-out homes I don't like so they don't appear again. I favorite them so my spouse knows to look at them later in the day when he gets around to it.

+1. My spouse and I share a Redfin account and X out any houses we veto and favorite any houses we love.

The number of X-outs and hearts are visible to anyone viewing the home.

I can't see that info on the mobile app, you have to go to the desktop app to see it. I wouldn't worry about it, favorites and x outs are for buyers to keep track. Ix out when a home is must not for me.

I can't see any of that on the app. I can see a list of houses I've favorited, but I can't see what anyone else did on my phone. And I never pull it up on my desktop.

Redfin should make X outs private. I think it negatively impact the perception of the house.

Shade? Oh do shut up. You are more annoying each time you whine.

Even if it's things the seller can't fix, the house is not right for that buyer. If you have overwhelming amount of Xs, then fix the price. Price is always the answer.
