Many people favorite any house they want updates on, regardless of whether they're in the market (I do this too) so I don't put much weight in that or the hot home designation, but taking the time to x it out reflects a more serious shopper. I can see why a buyer might find it useful to know that several people aren't interested. As lots of people said, though, it doesn't mean the house stinks. It means it's not for me.
But as seller we would have no clue why they x-out the house. Too small, or overpriced, bad color, busy street. When I sold my house only negative I could not fix it was it was a split, smaller driveway, only three bedrooms. So an X for that is what it is. But if folks X-out for fixable things I would like to know. But I dont. It serves not much purpose for seller as just throws "shade" on my house.
