Hillary Clinton: Bill's affair with Monica wasn't an abuse of power because 'she was an adult'

Bill had affairs. We get it. We know. Hillary did not have nice things to say about those women. Why would she? They slept with her husband. I wouldn’t have nice things to say either. We know that Bill has no moral high ground to stand on after all that. WE KNOW! If given the chance, I wouldn’t have voted for him after that. The dems use him sparingly on the campaign trail because of that. Ever wonder why this successful two term president who also happens to be a phenomenal speaker is rarely utilized on the campaign trail? Even his wife’s? Obviously, an affair is a marrital issue. They seem to have worked it out. It’s over. Republicans need to get over it.

Trump, Kavanaugh, Moore, and countless other Rs are accused of SEXUAL ASSAULT! Not the same as consensual affairs. Trump blatantly admiited to assaulting married women and Rs don’t care! Yet, they simultaneously clutch their pearls over Clintons affairs decades ago! Yes, Trump also had consensual affairs. Nobody is shocked. His own wife said she’s not concerned about it. It’s the cover up that will eventually bring him down. Just like it was Clinton’s cover up that caused the Rs to impeach him but they could care less about Trumps.

The hypocrisy is unbelievable, and the more you guys bring up Bill’s affairs, the more your hypocrisy stands out.

Actually, don't think this was case until after the Lewinsky matter. There was a lot of national conversation about this after it, and a consensus emerged that bosses should not have affairs with subordinates, willing or not. Executives now get dinged for this, but they used to not if it was a willing affair.

She pursued the relationship and was not the victim. It was an abuse of his power because she got access and status and a government job because of the relationship at the expense of more deserving people.

I think Clinton should have known better. That said, I don't think she was a victim in the affair.

I do think that the fallout from the affair landed disproportionately on her. Clinton emerged from this thing a bit battered but years later he still has his name, his family, his connections, his gravitas...Monica is basically a joke. No career, no family, no personal life. I feel very sorry for her because it seems like the whole weight of the political establishment came down on the immature girl in her early 20s.

What is crazy to me is that the women (both Monica and Hillary) were much more damaged by it than Bill. Disgusting. But not surprising.
