I’m a SAHM who loves superheroes and comic books. I still wear superhero shirts/socks and still want to be one, so I work out a lot and do martial arts and gymnastics. I usually feel more at ease among younger guys than I do the other moms my age, ha.

I'm really not, and that's not how I intended to come off. My eyes glaze over when people talk about science, the economy, animals, and other things they know much more about than me. It's just hard to find people who can be in a museum and sustain interest as long as I can, or want to go see a documentary about Vivienne Westwood. I get that.

I’d love to see a Vivienne Westwood documentary!

For me, it’s music—-not many people my age who like drum n bass and house music,

But to be fair, I’m not a marathoner (“oh my god i did 20 miles today and I refuse to see a doctor about my plantar fasciitis”), I was a college XC/track coach, and I know a lot about the science part of it. See, there I go again.

I love gardening, sewing, canning, cooking and baking to another level. I will be out with my kids each week picking produce to can, freeze or bake into something. People act like I am an oddity. Maybe because I am a 37 to Black chick. Idk. One last told me you people don't do t hat. Oh well, I always did March to the best of my own drum.

I have a friend who takes all of that to the next level as well. She's talented and creative and interesting- it's cool that you involve your kids. They will treasure those memories. I fancied myself an amateur writer this year- no one was interested. I couldn't get anyone to even read one of my short stories or flash fiction creations. It shouldn't have been de-motivating, but it was.
