I’m the OP. We chose based on interest in curriculum/ where child would thrive. Not proximity to home. Fine with paying for daycare another year. quote=Anonymous]
I'm the PP who replied saying the other list wasn't so weird... But this list is SUPER weird. I don't get it at all. And no IB? Maybe they haven't moved to the city yet and could live in any of NE Capitol Hill, Brookland or Petworth? That could sort of explain things... |
Totally out of curiosity, are you anti-charter? I know that some folks are turned off by CHML and AT for different reasons, but surprised not to see 2R @ 4th at least... |
But, OP, you didn't even choose schools w/ the same sorts of curriculums... Lee is your 2nd choice, but not SSMA or CHML? Cap City in the middle of the list, but no other EL schools? Not even 2Rs which is typically better regarded than Cap City. A random assortment of IB schools w/ totally different philosophies... So bizarre. |
Not anti-charter in general. Maybe we should have included Two Rivers, but we know a family there who are pretty lukewarm about it. And yeah, I was turned off by CHML and AT for the usual reasons. But if we didn't have a solid day care option to fall back on, I might well have put all three on the list. |

IB for LaSalle Backus. PK3 no sibling preference.

I think your list is quite good. If you have an excellent number, you will get into SWS. If you have a good number you will get into Peabody. Otherwise you will get into Miner or Tyler (off the waitlist). You don’t have a true safety but sounds like you don’t need one. |

Pk4, at our EOTP inbound which we have been perfectly happy with. We considered not playing again until next year... This probably makes more sense as K list but here it is:
