I take a protein shake with me, and immediately consume it after a work out. Then I drink water until meal time. If I forget the shake, then I will eat anything/everything in sight. |
My gym is in the same shopping center as a grocery store. If I go to a 90 minute class that really works me, I pick up a roasted chicken. I've been known to eat most of it in the parking lot. |
I am a very hungry, hangry person. I’m always hungry.
But I’ve started working out at 6am and then I’m considerably LESS hungry all day. I actually don’t eat until 10am, or later. Maybe your body just needs to adjust? |
This is OP, thanks for all the ideas. I’m going to try the protein shake right after and try an evening workout instead. Its not a new routine, it’s the more I step up the intensity, the more I cant stop eating, which is somewhat out of control (and not quite right). Will try these new ideas, thank you!!

This cracked me up. I want to be your friend. |
This cracked me up. But maybe . . . just maybe . . . those were five pounds of muscle. |
It’s doubtful she put on 5 lbs. of muscle just from boot camp exercises. |
Second on the protein shake. I keep a case from Sam's club in the trunk of my car. Drink one in the parking lot leaving the gym. |
I mean, not really, if you're trying to lose weight. |
9:00 - even people trying to lose weight should still eat. Especially after a workout. Refueling after a workout is how you rebuild the little tiny tears that happen in muscles.
I'm not saying she should go burn off 300 calories on the elliptical and then go eat an entire tub of lasagne. I'm saying that a protein shake (I like the Quest one - mix about 2/3 of the scoop with 10 oz of skim milk for a relatively low calorie shake) after a workout is not a bad thing. |
It might be thirst more than hunger. Try drinking a lot before giving in to the feeling of hunger. I felt this way after swimming even though I never felt dehydrated. |
OP, you need to have something to eat with at least 20 grams of protein within an hour of your workout. Drink a liter of water.
If you bump up anything make it the protein and water, and non-starchy carbs. Not that you should always avoid starch, but a hard workout doesn't mean eating bagels all day is necessary. I also find a need a hearty dinner the night before a strenuous workout, and a small snack beforehand. I'm a dedicated morning exerciser, and eating adequate protein and drinking enough water after keep me plenty full. |
Anything is possible, PP. anything |
If I do a lot of cardio this happens to me. If I stick to weights than it doesn’t. I think that is one of the reasons a lot of people don’t lose a lot of weight by running. |
James Earl Jones, narrating: "it was not five pounds of muscle". |
