Dentist cancelled wisdom teeth removal appointment last minute

They are canceling 4 days out, so this is okay by me. How's the oral surgeon supposed to know that you've scheduled to have your parents fly in to take care of your kids.

And honestly, I just got mine out last February as an adult (all 4), and after the first day, it wasn't bad at all. I think you could very easily get away with just having a sitter for the kids for the day of surgery. Even the first day wasn't bad pain wise because they tell you to take more pain meds before theirs wears off. The first day was just spent sleeping a lot.

Can you reschedule for through the week and go the sitter route?

You flew in your parents because you're having your wisdom teeth removed? You're dramatic. I had mine removed on the Friday of Labor Day weekend at 11am under general anesthesia. At 6pm, I was 2 hours away in the woods camping.

What “recovery” do you think you’ll be having? I had all four cut out at the same time and was fine (other than being in some pain) the following day. You really are flying your parents in for this? Are you not married? Do the kids not have a father?

NP. That’s great for you, but anesthesia has a very powerful effect on me and I slept for 20 hours out of the first 24 after my wisdom teeth were removed. Everyone doesn’t have the same experience.

So get local instead of general. Sure, it's not as nice as general because you'll hear the cracking, but you'll be able to function. She could also hire a local babysitter to help with the kids for the day.

NP. I had my wisdom teeth (and other teeth) out with local. I can't imagine risking general anesthesia for teeth.

Same here. The cracking noise was a little disconcerting but the recovery time was pretty much immediate. Unless the teeth are impacted or there are other complications, I would highly recommend local over general.

I had mine removed with local and had a few days of extreme pain in only one extraction spot. My husband took care of the kids and cooking. Honestly it would have been hard for me to do any of that for the first few days-my other teeth had no pain at extraction sites so I can imagine it being an easy recovery if all my teeth had felt like that.
