Can I ask what happens in May, OP? |
You could lose 42 pounds but you’re unlikely to without a much better plan than you seem to have. |
Vacation with a college friend I haven't seen since 2005 ( when I weighed 150). |
What would you suggest? I'm open to anything. |
PP here. I had great success with weight watchers but it was a few plans ago.
I think tracking and portion control are key and know some like my fitness pal. Good luck to you. |
DP. Don't bother with exercise until you have dropped at least 25 lbs. The only thing that will happen is you will become frustrated by the lack of progress. The best way to drop the weight is a low carb diet - reduced refined sugars and processed foods as much as possible. |
Really? How is exercise ever a bad idea? It’s good for your cardiovascular health and an instant mood lifter. |
It will make you ravenous. |
24 pounds. Focus on food not exercise! Tone and strengthen once you re close to your goal weight - nothing but walking until then. This is critical for 40+ weight loss IME. |
For women over 40, cardio and exercise increase hunger. In my experience, you have to wait until you are closer to goal weight (eg, less belly and body fat) before you begin to tone - and then, with weights only. Walk and stretch for daily exercise. |
Would recommend checking out Kenzai. It’s both an exersize and eating plan, and requires a ton of commitment but you can work out at home and get online support from the trainers and from other people doing the program. It’s really good at forcing a focus on food intake and making you change how you manage your choices generally.
I did it very very carefully and complied with everything and lost 30 pounds in 90 days - started out roughly where you are now. If you maintained a focus on things I bet you would lose more after the 90 days too. Good luck! |
You could lose a lot in that time. I reckon up to 60lbs but you would need a drastic diet change plus a lot of exercise. Crossfit worked for me but it would be hard if you are very out of shape - you would need to find a really good crossfit place that could encourage you.
The diet bit is the hardest - the amount a 130lb person eats is so radically different to what a 190lb person eats. It will take a lot to change your mindset about what is a normal serving and how much food you really need. |
Walk, stretch, yoga
Portion control, calorie control. Less carbs, no added sugar, no junk food, no soda, no alchohol, no smoking, no coffee, no baked goods. Lots of veggies, some fruit, healthy grains like quinoa millet oats etc. A good multi vitamin, 300 mg magnesium from Natural Calm or ReMag. Around 21-26 lbs in a healthy and sustainable manner. To treat yourself add on some beauty regimen or treatment that will make you look and feel like a million bucks. |
