I posted about the field trip. I meant to be snarky but I didn't mean to worry any parents. Had I seen anything truly dangerous, I would have done something. The open-area playground and aquarium were overrun with kids and by my count (yes, I counted as I was curious because it didn't seem like there were enough adults) there seemed to be 2 adults/20 kids. That would not be acceptable to me (and it's a much worse adult/kid ratio than I've seen at my own kids' elementary) but might be fine for others. I saw staff talking with each other and being impatient but nothing abusive.

Someday I'll understand why so many people in this area constantly find the need to be snarky.

In this case you've offered not a whiff of anything that most level headed parents would ever be worried about and for good measure threw in some snark. So I'll be snarky and wonder about a parent who is lucky enough to not be working during the week is doing passing judgement on the kids of those of us who are.

A ratio of 2 staff/teachers for 20 kids is not good enough for you?

I agree that for an outing more staff would be preferable. 2 for 20 kids is the norm for aftercare.

That was a janney + outing which was offered during parent teacher conference day. Aka, not dcps related and a private program.

Why are you doing this to your school and children?! Thank god the letter " J" comes first in the alphabet, something to be proud of.

This makes me sad. I am a Janney mom and nobody in real life at Janney behaves like those posters. I doubt they are even Janney parents. Just out to give Janney a bad name.
