I'm 5'4". I feel short, especially when trying to buy pants or skirts. My guy is 6'4", which makes me feel even shorter, but not in a negative way. I'm also the shortest of my siblings. I hate the top shelf at the grocery store, but my height is not otherwise a problem. |
5'8". I feel on the taller side of average. English ancestry. DH is 6'5" and my sons are 6'3" and 6'6" so I feel short at home ![]() |
5'2" female, white. I consider myself to be on the shorter side, but to me, that's a good thing-I was a gymnast. |
5'9". I consider myself on thr tall side of average. I wear high heels that put me at 6 or over and I love it!!! |
OP here, I do wish I was as tall as you and other taller ladies! I know it shouldn't matter but it does. I am not obsessing over it or anything, but when many of your female friends are over 5'8" and many even taller I guess it messed me up when I was a teen. |
5'8" and consider myself tall, though not excessively so. It's rare that I find myself looking 'up' to someone (my husband is only slightly taller, and definitely shorter if I wear real heals). Irish/German. |
5'11" woman with a French background. I haven't always liked my height (middle and hs), but now that stores are making tall clothes I'm fine and even enjoy it. |
5'11". White. German Scottish English
Consider myself tall. Like OP I hated bring tall until I began to work. It has been an advantage to me |
5'10", woman, black.
I consider myself tall and have always liked it, never had that hunched shoulders phase that a lot of taller girls go through in junior high when the boys haven't yet caught up height-wise. I have other insecurities, to be sure, but height isn't one of them. |
5'4 female Eastern and Western European ancestry
Feel to be average in height. At work many women are shorter than me and many are taller. Married a tall man and both of my children are going to pass me by the time they are in six and seventh grade I am glad for them as like you, 0P, I wish i was taller. I always wanted to be somewhere between 5'6 to 5'8 which I feel are the perfect height. Sorry if there are any grammarical errors I am on my phone |
I'm 5'7" and until recently considered myself the taller side of average. These days I feel like many of the 18-25 year olds I see are very tall, so I think I am more just average. I am 35, Ashkenazi Jewish.
I used to want to be shorter because it seemed like all the men I dated were short. But DH is 6' so without that cultural desire to be a lot shorter than my guy, I wouldn't mind being an inch or so taller. |
5'7 and a mix of Irish, English and Ashkenazi.
Felt tall as an early teen as I reached this height at 14 but then everyone grew past me and I subsequently don't feel very tall. But not short, either. |
Female, 5 ' 2
I think I'm about average. Maybe a little short |
+1. I am told frequently that I'm tall, even though I feel pretty average in height these days. I think I have a lot of short female friends ![]() |
You must wear heels at all times. I have several friends who are about 5'2" and NONE of them would say they are average, they would all instantly say they are short. |
