| In a country this size--is this really the best we can do? Hillary vs Trump? |
apparently. Pretty sad, huh? It amazes me sometimes how the US is able to still hold on to its economic and political power in the world, though it is rapidly slipping, and I suspect will slip even further and faster if Trump wins. |
| It's an effective ad and shows the problems I have with Trump. However, the sound bite of Hillary putting coal miners out of work just might be more damaging--that and Pushing the video over the coffins of the fallen. |
Wait till she starts using all the shit he said on Howard Stern. |
Its a curious ad. I wonder who the target market is...Dems will like it, but they are not voting for Trump and it will make the Republicans base more supportive of Trump. Sound bites of attacks on Trump from people the republicans base has resoundingly rejected and think of as the problem will actually strengthen Trump. So what is the purpose of the ad...to make democrats feel better? its really a waste of resources. The time and money could have been spent better else where. |
The target audience is moderate Republicans and independents, especially suburban women. |
Billy Crystal is looking for candidates now. Give him a call. |
+1 Quotes from people who ran against him who say they are not happy with him. hmmmm. Very compelling. It lacks substance and I think it makes some of them look bad -- like Lindsey Graham. He seems like such a blow hard. And bush -- I like him, but he always seemed so nervous and timid. Cruz? Rubio? |
| Her new ad is Trump in his own words and it is scary as hell. |
1. To remind Republicans who are fence sitting about rallying around Trump (that is about half of all GOP primary voters - True Cons, NeoCons, moderates, etc) about what is wrong with Trump, as voiced by their own 2. To let any Repubs and Repub leaning independents who have not been paying attention know how bad Trump is, as voiced by their own 3. To pressure the GOP leaders to not endorse Trump, or else look like fools. 4. To put Trump back on the defensive - not let him bask in "rallying around" |
You're forgetting about Independents - those people who pretty much determine the outcome of every election. |
While Bernie supporters and independents are like -- see Hillary has always been in bed with neo cons, true cons. Hillary is raising money now from the never trump folks. Is Hillary really a progressive when many #Iamwithher right wing nuts support her? This ad just reinforced that Hillary is another neo con -- she is not that different from Bush. |
but you already thought that way. The question is whether it will change any votes. I suspect not. |
By reminding voters what they would get in a Trump presidency, it will convince many Bernie supporters to not lodge a protest vote, and encourage non-Trump supporting republicans to stay home on election day in protest. It will also solidify Trump's support among people who already support him, but so what? they only get one vote no matter how strongly they feel in support of Trump. |
The goal is to disrupt the GOP's plan to unify around Trump. That will affect the election. It's smart because Trump cannot attack the people disparaging him because they are the very people he needs to rally around him. And when they change their tune, the ad reminds voters that they don't really believe in the guy, that they are doing it for the sake of politics. |
