My kid has both scores in pool, but I do not know GBRS and nervous about this portion as it sounds from this forum GBRS has very strong decision weight. I aksed abotu GBRS from our teacher, but she sort of said to wait for the decision... Not sure what that means.

When we expect decision to be out?

That's BS. Ask the AART for a copy of the file. It will include the GBRS. If the AART says you have to wait for the decision, call the AAP office. Schools are supposed to make the file available on request after it goes to the central screening committee.

I just figured to wait, I was afraid if i pushed, I would come out pushy... When is the deadline foir decisions?

I think mid April

+1

Mid April Eligibility decisions mailed
April 18-28, 2016 Full-time AAP orientations held at Level IV sites (elementary school only)
May 13, 2016 Appeals due to AAP Office

So these dates are incorrect ? They are coming tomorrow?

For FCPS, probably Friday. Mailed late March. They like to have these arrive on Friday, to give people a couple days to calm down before the contact FCPS staff. FWIW! TJ Decisions released Friday, 4/1 at 6:00 under the same theory.

FCPS teacher here. It is really sad that parents put so much stock into AAP. Children will not suffer for being in base school. When they are in high school, they all get the same choices. Parents, get a life!

The correct answer is mid-April, people. See the updated parent information packet on the FCPS website.

Ok- the parent information packet on the AAP site DOES have the updated timeline which is MID APRIL. The webmaster did not update one timeline link which has the March timeframe.

In the packet they even highlighted it in yellow to show that these dates had changed.

You need to click IDENTIFICATION, then current FCPS, the on the right is the packet on the above link. Our school reinforced the mid April date.

the document began on January 6, 2016 and replace the previous
version of this documents timeline. Changes are on page 5 and are

Given the parents will be notified mid April, when do the schools find out?

Can you explain why FCPS teachers generally expect less out of non-AAP kids then? Once that changes, more people will be willing to do away with AAP.

They will get the same choices and not everyone from TJ or Langley or McLean became any thing significant by studying there.. I don't know any well known academic alumni from these schools..
